Until when do you plan to heat your home?

Hi guys,

I shut the heater off in my apt. a couple weeks ago and have constant temperatures between 19-21° without it. Is yours still on and when do you usually turn it off?

I don't even know how to turn the heating on. Maybe it is centrally controlled.

LOL - it depends on the weather really. When we don't need it, we will switch it off - and just make the occasional fire in the wood burner.

Mine has been off since the beginning of March... current temperature 21.3 with a couple of windows cracked open. I suspect that will drop a bit between now and Monday though...

Don't want to make you jealous or anything but we've had the air conditioning turned on in our place for a few weeks now. If we didn't the temp would already be at around 32 C (but we are still in Saudi)

If it weren't for the lilac bit, I'd be very jealous indeed

You're right! Believe me, there is nothing to be jealous of - I'm happy to be leaving

I stopped heating about 4-6 weeks ago. We have 20-21 degrees in the house, that's perfect for me.

I leave mine alone - it does it's own thing and sorts itself out - completely hands free (just like being married "..... sorry? ..... what was that, dear? .... in who's dreams?").

There is no general rule, but when I feel it is warm enough I gradually turn down the heating. I just on Monday was told by an 80-plus couple that the heating had apparently failed. They live in the topfloor, and so of course will continue with heating for a while still. Where I grew up we started to turn the heating down in February as the centre of the central heating was just some 10 meters away.

I between 2002 and 2009 had my flat in Adliswil in a house where a "Hauswart" with a perfect knowledge of heating managed the groundfloor-heating in a way that the temperature was always the same throughout the year.

Same here, I think ours are always closed.

Shorts year round at home, June-September at work.
