Last time I wished 'Happy Easter' on a public forum, I was warned that it is not PC due to the fact that not everyone celebrates it.
At the risk of getting more flack, I nonetheless wish
H A P P Y E A S T E R
to all those who do.
And here's hoping the weather is good enough for the kids to be able to go out and hunt Easter eggs. | This user would like to thank Britething for this useful post: | |

It is high time these little fascists went back in the hole they came from! | | | | | I think it's important that we, as European Christians, have a sense of perspective about this. Has anyone prevented either of you from attending a Good Friday service today? Is it likely that anybody will prevent you from celebrating the resurrection on Sunday?
In too many parts of the world, right now, Christians are being actively prevented from practising their faith, Christians are being murdered for their faith, Christians are suffering persecution unimaginable to those of us who take a short bus trip into town to attend services in a centrally heated building for granted.
Let's not kid ourselves into believing that just because some grumpy individual takes exception to our wishing them a Happy Easter, that we are being persecuted in some way. If we do, it diminishes the genuine suffering of our brothers and sisters overseas.
In that spirit, therefore, I wish you all a peaceful and blessed Easter.

My first day of Easter ...
Arrived in nice sanctuary of peace located in Italy away from civilization after six-hour drive from Zurich. Had a great lasagna and noodles with 4 cheeses (first course) and beef steak (second course) last night with Radler and the service was truly great. Went straight to bed and woke up at 10am next enjoying the scenery from the balcony next morning. Some people, somewhere in the world, were less lucky and undisturbed during this important long weekend ...
One of them is our tenant in Johannesburg who has sent me email at 4am in the morning that geyser's pipe started leaking and flooded the main bedroom. He cannot go on holidays with his kids because the expensive stuff and carpet are getting wet. So he has to attend to the issue. Multiple phone calls and emails sent cannot get answered. Everyone being on holidays, body corporate and complex maintenance team included. Rental agent eventually has sent a plumber to shut down the water supply because the ceiling started caving in. Tomorrow geyser's people coming to attend to the issue and hopefully we can save the ceiling. Now we are also getting nerves and feeling sorry for our new tenant that it has ruined his Easter long weekend plans with the family.
I tell you, some people want to relax on holidays but shit happens. So is our spirit a bit down at the moment despite the day going great so long with wonderful 2h tennis session, drinks in beer garden and sauna, jacuzzi and other spa luxuries to boot.

Happy Easter!
Looking forward to the celebration of the Easter Vigil, beginning with lighting of the new Paschal candle from a fire.
And sharing eggs and wishes on Sunday breakfast, where we'll also eat food from a basket blessed on Saturday morning.
