Re: Neighbourly Nemesis

As a kind of conclusion, I thought for those of you following this thread, you might like to see below a translation of the letter our brilliant landlords sent.

Dear Herr xxx & owners
Just yesterday, I received the latest protocol at the same time as your letter. Certainly, Herr xxx, you have only meant well, and would or have already directly contacted our tenants.
The use of the garden is solely for the benefit of the ground floor flat occupants. This is laid down in the law relating to the registering of the land and was reflected in the higher cost of the purchase price of this apartment.
It is also common knowledge that happy children are not illegal. Peace and order has not been broken-no sandcastles were built at night.
It's with each garden apartment owner or tenant, to determine how many or what type of toys are placed in the garden and where they are located, regardless of how many playgrounds exist in the area. You have only to contact the Verwaltung to find out how stupid your assertions and comments are.
It is also not the job of the Verwaltung to check, how many children there are in an apartment and if they are visitors or not. It is fascistic and shameful, what I read in your letter about this intervention in the privacy of our tenants and cannot be justified in anyway.
Without wishing to be rude, I ask you as well as all of the owners, to apologise to me and my tenants. So this is officially done, I accept only a written letter of apology.

After this, all the owners hid from us for about a month and if they happened to unavoidably see us they didnt make eye contact. We never received a letter of apology and it was only when we made the first move and said hello to them did they return to more or less normal behaviour.

Help needed for suggestions for a dish served cold.

If I were you I would think like that

1) Confront my neighbor trying to understand why they complained, if i heard nonsense I wont argue or continue discussion, will think about next step

2) Will think about any possible excuse that may make me digest what they did by writing a complain especially that I am being flexible with those neighbors, like I may think that possibly his children were stressing him by requesting to live in an apartment with garden and toys like yours while he cannot afford this financially so he misbehaved due to the stress, If I couldn't find an excuse I will go to this final thought.

3) Will ignore the whole story, forget and forgive - with the hope that either in my life I will get substituted with something better for another matter, or a wild family who might be their new neighbors whom are taking over my apartment that I am leaving will take good revenge from them.

Good luck with your move

Find some very young Swiss musicians to take over your apartment.
