Re: Are the Swiss really hard to crack like coconuts?

my impression about them so far:
-they're superficial as f#ck, meaning that they'll treat you completely based on your looks - if you're unattractive or are a black, indian, asian or have "eastern Europe"/russian look, have any kind deviation of swiss look etc. and particularly if you're are a male having a combination of mentioned, then you're likely to be in troubles. This translates to disapproving staring, rudeness, eyerolling to the heaven, being skipped when waiting in a line or waiting at a table for order, being ignored when asking people for instructions.... I can hear them commenting other people's appearance all the time (yes, I'm talking about guys)
- they're nationalistic and discriminatory, meaning that when tell them where you come from, they'll respond like they just got an urge to have a big dump after being constipated for a year or like someone had just pushed them a big metal rod deep in their a##es
- they're extremely narrow minded
- they're snobby as hell (swiss uber alles, schweice qualitet, they see germans as lower class farmer people...)
- they infected with village mentality virus
- they're weird
- they're cold
- they're like zombies

Oh wow, I'm glad YOU aren't a bigot, otherwise you'd fit right in judging by your assessment.

Bicycle, I usually read these kind of complaints from males who couldn't find a girlfriend here. I don't want to jump to the wrong conclusions, but is this your case too?

Bicycle

You seem to be on some kind of a crusade. You are apparently intensely unhappy here, and seem to think that this is purely a result of factors external to yourself - I submit that you are not being open minded, but either way, this is no way to go through life.

With all due respect, I think you might consider some other place to live.

there is a confession to be made - yes, I can't get swiss girlfriend here (even swiss guys struggle, let alone non-attractive and exotic looking auslander from scheisse country like me), but what has this to do with my complains over swiss culture?

I would guess that the answer to that question would depend on if you are a unicycle, or a bicycle built for two.

When you're miserable or unhappy everything is grey. When you're happy the very same everything is colourful.

I can understand that this is a problem for many foreign men, but try to see the good things that this country has to offer, and it has a lot...
On the other hand I know a few mixed couples that found each other in CH (or in other country and moved here after a while), so maybe expanding your searches a little bit would help with the loneliness too. Be open-minded and a bit more positive, and who knows?
Btw, 25% of residents are foreigners...so you do have quite a large dating pool, don't cut other options because you might think it's cool to have a Swiss girlfriend or something. These things don't work like that.

Yes, but if he's got that attitude, I doubt he's very attractive to Swiss women (or men), no matter where he comes from...

Re: Are the Swiss really hard to crack like coconuts?

If you're an 'average' guy who comes to Switzerland looking for love---be prepared for a struggle and much disappointment.

:P

As a below average guy, it is really shocking when I go to the UK and Canada, and within minutes random females will chat with me for absolutely no reason--and of course no intentions per se.

I think in one afternoon in either country (the last two I visited outside of CH), I had more conversations with the opposite gender than my entire 7 years in Switzerland :P

but as was mentioned, Switzerland has A LOT to offer, so you give up some niceties to receive a bunch of others.

Don't know about his attitude in real life, hopefully he's a much more positive guy than his online persona.

After reading so many rants on EF (they rather amuse me), it makes me wonder whether this is a phase all the newbies have to go through or perhaps they just don't fit here due to high expectations or simply a different view on social relations...in which case, I really have to succumb to the old and "nasty" "if you don't like it here.."
