Discount on sales of clothes

Hi everyone,
Is there such thing called 'acsion' in Suisse, in which all clothes become cheaper for a limited amount of time?
I heard this from someone, but he did not specifically state when such events are held during the year.

Thanks.

Re: Discount on sales of clothes

Just go to Germany (or France in your case).
Allmost all "sales" are really a rip-off (in any country).

Going to another country for shopping is a better idea actually. They ll be cheaper even if you get a discount in SW.

Best to order from a European, or Uk site that delivers to Switzerland... either order something of not so great a value, ie. less than 40chf, or several hundred chf to make it worth while...

Re: Discount on sales of clothes

alternatively, just visit another country, take the tax off as you leave the country, then arrive back in Swiss with a great deal - ofcourse, I don't think this sort of behaviour is ethical or acceptable!

Re: Discount on sales of clothes

Just a random data point: I was shopping for a new suit in Zurich so I went to Suitsupply, a European-base men's suit chain... I found a great suit for 459 CHF. They also have a store in Los Angeles so I figured it would probably be cheaper here in L.A. for the same suit... nope! It was US $599, plus 9.9% California sales tax!

So for roughly CHF200 less... I'll be buying the suit in Zurich... and I can't believe I found something that is actually cheaper in Switzerland, let alone a "luxury good"!
