Ah yes, but he has his museum in Gruyères, also famous for its cheese. The town, not the museum.
Indeed and his house is in Richterswil

Hi

I was wondering what each town here is famous for - or maybe its claim to fame

Eg London - the queen, Thames, red buses etc
Edinburg - the castle, Arthurs seat etc

But I have next to no idea about what each town is famous for in Switzerland - so that if we have visitors I can say "oh A is famous for XYZ etc"

Can anyone help??
As far as this is concerned; you're in Kilchberg you have a world famous sanatorium...

Re: What makes your Swiss town famous?

Schlieren was home to the first "deaf-mute school" in Switzerland, it opened in 1777.
It also has the biggest covered climbing hall in Europe.

Not quite so exciting as the big towns I'm afraid.

Brugg!!

* where the narrowest point of the Aare river flows
* Prior to their relocation to Austria, Brugg was the center of the Habsburgs' territory.
