UK Solicitor in Zurich?

Does anyone know of a UK solicitor in Zurich?

I'm looking for any kind of solicitor or commissioner of oaths to witness the signature of a document.

Thanks in advance

Re: UK Solicitor in Zurich?

Here you use a Notar to witness a signature, register sale of house, draw up a Will.

Re: UK Solicitor in Zurich?

Thanks, not exactly what I'm looking for though.

I need a UK registered solicitor - its nothing to do with anything in Switzerland. (except they happen to be physically located here)

Re: UK Solicitor in Zurich?

Your problem might be that the only UK-registered solicitors in Zurich tend to work for one of the big commercial law firms. Not sure whether they would agree to witness a signature, and if they did, they would probably charge you unreasonable amounts of money for it.

However, as you might know, the Consular Section of the British Embassy in Berne is able to witness signatures on documents to be used in the UK (cf. http://ukinswitzerland.fco.gov.uk/en...alise-document).

"The Consular Section at the British Embassy in Berne and regional Consulates in Switzerland can receive affidavits and statutory declarations and witness signatures on legal documents for use in the UK, British Overseas Territories and some Commonwealth countries not represented in Switzerland. They can also perform these services for documents originating from the UK, British Overseas Territories and some Commonwealth countries for use in Switzerland."

(The reference to "regional Consulates" is outdated unfortunately...they don't exist anymore).

If you don't want to travel to Berne for this, you could send the Embassy an email and ask whether they know a UK-registered solicitor in Zurich...
