Sadly no. The whole situation was just.... unexpected. But that's what happens when you talk to strangers!

I had a bag from a shoe shop and during the trip we were talking about shoes. I should have known that was the first red flag!

When we stopped he asked me if he could see my shoes. So I sort of lifted one foot up. Then he leaded over and grabbed it. He then flung my shoe off and held on to my foot with both hands.... Ugh....

It was very strange. It really took me by surprise. Who on earth would think such a thing would happen?

I'm not really that "quick". I didn't quite get it was a "thing" until later.

Did he not realise that you had another, fully functioning foot which was presumably fully shod? I think him and his face got off lightly that day...

If anyone grabs one of my (über-sensitive) feet I have the uncontrollable reflex to fight like a wildcat and am not responsible for my actions or any injuries inflicted.

Oh, I was more amused than anything else. Once I'd got off the metro. As I said, it isn't the first time this kind of thing has happened!

It only wins the prize for the second most bizarre proposition. I won't share the first because it was just too odd for a public forum. But my feet were complimented then too.

So what do you think:
Dont be a spoilsport!

Pm?

TBH, it was so strange and unexpected that I didn't even consider that. I was just trying to remove my foot from his grip. Plus, I guess because he was so nice a pleasant, not at all giving out creepy vibes, I wasn't on "alert mode".

I just shrugged it off and then only later did I thing perhaps this was a guy with a foot fetish! Naive? Probably...

just another guy trying to flirt. True a bit old, but after all just a guy trying to flirt. Ignore him, as you might ignore all guys in whom you are not interested.

I am NOT making this up... despite similarities to another thread!

I got on the metro at Lausanne-Flon today. Next to me was an older gentleman (I'd say around 65), carrying an umbrella over his shoulder. He nearly poked me in the eye, and turned around as I was watching the umbrella warily to make sure I didn't get hit... and caught my eye.

Him: Are you going on holiday?
Me: No.
Him: I'm going on holiday. I'm all alone. Would you like to come with me?
Me: No, thanks.
Him: How about we go and get a cup of coffee?
Me: I'm meeting my parents.
Him: Maybe another time.

Pause. He stared at me...

Him: You have very pretty feet... and your dress is nice... and you have a lovely face. You've got the whole package! I'm a photographer by the way.
Me: Oh.

The metro got into Lausanne gare, and I exited. Fast. I distinctly heard my fellow travellers laughing. Another man came up to me.

Him: He came on strong, didn't he!
Me: Mmmm...
Him: So, are you here on holiday?
Me: No.
Him: Well, enjoy your coffee with your parents!

I'll just add the experience to my list of 'strange conversations with stranger men'. At least this one took place on the metro when I could escape. They usually take place in psychiatric wards, where it's a little harder to get away! I think I should write a book...

Or I need some tips on how to politely ignore people... can someone give me some tips!

I'm not sure if this belongs in daily life or the funny section
Just chalk it up to "strange situations."

Once I was in the Bern train station catching a quick bit to eat before I caught the train to go home after a morning seminar. A guy then shows up and sits across from me with his lunch and before the first bite, asks me blatantly if I would like to have sex with him - to which I replied very sternly NO I WOULD NOT!! I picked up my stuff and quickly left. I didn't think about slapping him until I was on the train and trying to calm down.

At least the guy who propositioned you, complemented you first!

why are women so violent? just a polite question/request - a simple "no thank you." would have been enough!

I don't think the "thank you" part would be very honest.

Maybe it is the way women are asked. Not too many fall for the Ronaldo form: you, me F%*&ç, F*%&ç. As my mom always said, it's not what you say, but how you say it!

Re: So, how would you have handled this situation?

sorry that happened. there are some weirdos around here. just last week i was on the train to lausanne and the old guy across from me took out some phone cards and started to organize them. first clue that he was a bit off. then he started talking to me and i was polite (kind of stuck listening to him but not really talking to him) and he started to say he believed in spanking and kids need to learn rules and blahblahblah and then, thankfully we got to lausanne and as i got up he added, just like you too, you probably need a good spanking now and again. i was shocked but i kinda wanted to laugh because it was a bit ridiculous. but i told him, after a minute of disbelief that i prefer kicking others in the face as hard as i can.

that sent him off the train pretty fast. i'm not usually so aggressive but the guy freaked me out with his perviness. i think in your case i wouldn't have been so aggressive, but usually that's when my no hablo frances gets used.

Re: So, how would you have handled this situation?

Is it just me or the concentration of weirdos in Lausanne is stunninng, or maybe it just seemed like it this week

For that matter, nobody wants to know how men ask female strangers for sex. Shocking the poor girl is part of the strategy, most stop there and are afraid to advance, but it's enough to have one's stomach turn, at times.

I been always saying, repeating their weirdness out loud with a jolie accent, as if not understood while moving towards some bystanders always sends them running swiftly from the scene..

Ew. And then I forget super fast whatever obscenities I have just heard again
