Nope, doesn't make it less embarrassing for me, I'm affraid. Same as I don't pee nor poop, play in my nose, cut my nails and pull out pubic hair in public.

Re: Elevator etiquette

In my office building even if women are stuck in the back of the elevator, the men, more often than not, will move aside to let them out first. Which is very nice, but sometimes a bit awkward for me. Not exactly a size 2! (Or whatever the swiss size is, I can't remember.)

I have to resist the urge to snigger childishly whenever someone waiting for a lift says "going down?"
In German speaking Switzerland,
the questions are either "abä?" or "ufä?"

Haha me too!
I find it amusing how people fill a lift awkwardly. People often take the corners first, then file around the edges, leaving a large space in the middle which others wishing to board often feel awkward occupying and wave off the lift for the next one.
.
that is just done expecting the carriage to start to swing & rock

They are quite safe, maybe not disabled-friendly but great fun to ride. If anybody wants to invite me to ride the Novartis paternoster I am all game for it.
I'm curious. Which building at Novartis still has a paternoster lift in it?
