Thank you for the incredible welcome!

I must admit, it is the first time I am ever welcome to a new country with loud fireworks during the night. I even heard that the whole country was celebrating my arrival. They even declared the day off today. :P

my brother , who was 12 years old when we moved from the great white north to the wilds of New England ( back in the middle ages ) actually had a couple of girls believing we lived in igloo's

he was a smooth talker even back then, but of course I got the good looks.

anyway... welcome to Sweden.

I could always find a way to convince americans that in addition to our beaver tails and maple syrup, the most important part of our diet consisted of poutine.

Thank you so much for the welcome, I look forward to the canned rotting fish!

I really like Switzerland; local wine, good yogurt, fresh fruit, mild temperatures, polite neighbours, high gas prices, watery beer, they recently found a wolf... I was starting to feel almost at home.

But now I know what I really miss here. Beaver.

YES !! I don't know where your filthy disgusting mind is at but we Canadians are very proud of our national symbol

In the early days of what would become Canada proud beavers kept our early explorers and trappers warm at night!

when food was scarce a little beaver pie kept them going

and when things got really hard ... well ... never mind

signed ,
a proud Canadian

p.s. - I am also proud to say that on my wedding
day I displayed a bit of beaver , although mrs. g was a bit taken aback
( pics to follow )

Ah la moufette or sod truning slug eater! Not nearly as endearing as the hedgehog.

I do miss the chipmunk or "suisse" as we call them in Québec. My friends here think that I am evil for leaving them outside to hibernate.

Re: Thank you for the incredible welcome!

On my first day here you guys are making me nostalgic and homesick!

Beaver lovers are proud and never afraid to get a little dirty in the pursuit of this furry beast. Yes, many have tried to tame it, but it always remained a symbol of true Canadian uninhibited passion!

I would say there is plenty of beaver here. But that is just not my style. You'll have to wait for our more 'colorful' members to come back from the mountains.
