UK to Swiss plugs/Adaptors

Hi,

Can any one tell me where I can find these? So far all I have been pointed to in all the electronic stores I have visited are the global travel adaptors, which cost 50 CHF each. I have just moved from the UK and have quite a few appliances that I brought with me thinking that since the voltage was the same, it should be no issue!!

I am pretty sure I picked up a couple in Coop Bau-Hobby for a few francs each.

Try here.

You honestly thought the plugs would be the same? You didn't think to check?

Edit: I see you are from India, where I believe you use the same plugs as the UK, so I guess I can understand it not being a consideration!

Re: UK to Swiss plugs/Adaptors

Just change the plugs on all your appliances to Swis plugs. You can buy the swiss plugs for a Franc or two in the bau and hobby. Takes 2mins to wire them up. Much better and cheaper than bulky adaptors all over the place!

Re: UK to Swiss plugs/Adaptors

was going suggest what tim did we swapped all the plugs over for everything we had coop had the plugs for 1chf each. the adapters are ok on the flat sockets but a lot are sunken ones and then you can't get the adapter in them so limits where you can use appliances.

Re: UK to Swiss plugs/Adaptors

I knew the plugs were different, I just didn't think it would be this hard to find an adaptor. It isnt hard to find any adaptors in the Uk nor is it stupidly expensive so I assumed it woul be the same here.

Re: UK to Swiss plugs/Adaptors

Next time you're in the UK, buy some multi-socket adapters / extension leads, then change the one plug to Swiss format. Works for all the computer stuff and phone chargers etc where you can't just change the plug to Swiss.

Also you can do this the other way round - buy a Swiss multi-socket extension lead and put an English plug on it. Great gift for Swiss friends moving to England!

Thanks,

that is actually a very good suggestion. I dont want to re-wire everything to swiss plugs because I am moving back in a year or so. The next time I am in the UK, I will get amazon to deliver some very cheap adaptors. I miss the UK already!
