Yes, when I worked at Swisscom, there were several fire drills.
So it must just be chemical companies and buildings containing several aircraft that don't bother. (It's not like these have any sort of increased risk, is it?)

No, absolutely not.
Office buildings, like to one I worked in at Swisscom are obviously very high risk environments where fire drills are essential.

Re: Fire alarm interesting human nature observation

Does anyone have smoke alarms in their apartment building? We have none in ours. Our previous place was in an apartment building next to a hospital, housing mainly hospital staff, smoke alarms were installed only last year, I assume they already had them in the actual hospital .

In my apartment building isn't even a fire extinguisher. And the main entrance door opens to the inside. And if the door is locked you need a key to open it, even from inside the building.
Not really a secure building as you can see.

Re: Fire alarm interesting human nature observation

A few years ago I was in a supermarket in the UK and the fire alarm went off but I and most people continued shopping as normal. It was not until staff started telling customers there was an actual fire that we all headed out. Strage how we react to situations, maybe I thought I was safe as I was in the freezer aisle at the time
