What's your best keep cool tip during this hot summer in CH?

As this glorious summer weather continues, we're melting in our apartment (this is not a complaint, I'd rather melt than be too cold).

We:
1) go to the lake as much as possible
2) wet our clothing and hair
3) eat lots of ice cream

What does your family do?

1. don't move too much
2. put feet in cold water
3. drink lots of cool beer
4. repeat 1 to 3 above as necessary
5. keep windows closed from 9 am until about 9 pm

Could not recall drinking so much water on a daily basis when it reached sweltering levels ( at 36 degrees ).

Go in the pool - water a refreshing 27/28° - cool but not cold ..... can stay in for ages.

Then come in the house where the heating is running on it's cooling function - pumping cold water round the underfloor pipes - nice cold tiles.

When the house feels warm, then go underground in the cellar and play toggeli or ping-pong.

We also just re-discovered a childhood favourite: floats (pop with ice cream in it). And if I had a blender I'd replace normal meals with frozen fruit shakes at the moment.

The feet in cold water sounds awfully tempting.

Go to H&M, they have amazing air conditioning. I went in the other day and pretended to look at their clothes so I could cool down.
And in the cold weather, you can stand outside the open shop door and get warm!

Another idea is to stick your head in the fridge at home

We've been moving upwards... The mountains around here offer cooler temperatures. Sometimes as much as 6-10°C cooler than here in Chur... Even better if the area (eg. Lenzerheide, Laax, Vättis) has a lake or too. Heaven

Have the air conditioning unit on when we go out...so when we come home its super cool

Also have a dip in our little pool...its quite fresh as its water from the waterfall but nice enough to cool you down....am sure I saw a frog in there the other day hehehe.

Just enjoy the high temperatures. We were all lamenting the crappy summer up until a couple of weeks ago. This weather won't last long - enjoy it! The cold, damp grey coverage will be delivered all too quickly!

Water everywhere: pools, lakes, shower, water, coca cola, ice cream, cold coffee, cold watermelon...

My grandfather was in India during the time of the Raj, he taught me when I was a child that if you kept your wrists and ankles cold a man could withstand almost any natural heat, If Im hot I concentrate on those areas, it works..
