Gathering in the park -rules?

We are leaving Switzerland soon and our garden is being dug up so we can't have really have people over for a leaving BBQ as we had originally planned.

There is a park just down the road and I was thinking we could have a picnic in the park instead. Are there any rules about doing this. It would be a few families with children and workmates. Possibly around 30 people give or take.

Does anyone know if I need permission for this? Or can we just show up?

Re: Gathering in the park -rules?

Providing it is a public park and you are very quiet after 8 pm, I can't see a problem. Maybe ask at the Gemeinde /Commune /town police, just to be sure, as sometimes open spaces are not publicly owned. I don't imagine you would be allowed to cook anything, but ask if you intend to. Emphasize that you will of course be reponsible and clean up afterwards!

Nearly every village has a wooden hut for hire, usually in the woods, for about CHF 200 per day. They often come with kitchen and toilets, would that be a possibility and an insurance against bad weather? Again ask at your local Gemeinde / Commune.
