Re: Need some wise words...

You are really not alone, there is so many like you both male and female going through this. I also feel the same as you do many times a day. Have no idea what I'm doing or where I'll end up at. Would like to be somewhere else but not sure how to get there or if I should. I know I can't afford to live here but can't afford to leave either. So there is alot of lost soles everywhere and its really hard to get help even with all the advice. I know it can't hold out the way it is but I can't make the steps to change it. So people like me stay and see what happens next. If I left here I would lose the chance of seeing my son grow and being around him, my brothers and family back home insists I come back. I live on the minimun here but can't see how to make it back home now either. I would miss my son for sure. I was in my late 40's when I moved here, got married but found it hard to find a job. Got divorced at 59 lost my small job here at the same time, there words were I might move back home so therefore wasn't wanted anymore. Now it was too late to find work in my field back home. I now live in a very small appartment and barely making ends meet at my age is depressing. I lived in this appartment for 3 years now and the only person ever to knock on my door is someone selling something or asking for money. My life now centers around my son, but I know at his age now that could also change at anytime. Then I'll probably end up going back home. I really have no idea. At my age, being on a tight budget, not from here and not having a home I think my chances of ever meeting anyone are about 0 and I hate being alone in this place.

Re: Need some wise words...

I recovered from depression only after converting to Islam. I was born as a muslim, but I never practiced it before. Now I know who I am and what I am living for. Just wise words that help me to deal with problems in my life: Allah SWT wont give problems without solutions and will not test you beyond your capacity. So defeat your problems with great confidence. God does not impose on any soul more than it can bear.

Re: Need some wise words...

Dear all,

I just wanted to update since my need for some wise words post a couple of months ago.

Firstly, to everyone who replied and got in touch with me, thank you.
There are truly a lot of wise and wonderfully positive people on this forum.
Some physically went out of their way to do nice things Thank you LIB. Your act kind act made me come back to my senses and enjoy life again.

Others went out of their way to post nice messages, or those wonderful people who I'm in physical contact with offered me words of wisedom, said the nicest of things, offered to help me and reminded me that they are there if I ever need it. You are just such amazing people.

Life can be really up and down, and to those who said they were in a similar situation, I really hope you find your paths again and remember that life is a journey of ups and downs and the 'downs' are there to contrast the 'ups' that make life very special.

I used to think that posting on a internet forum was a little bit silly and that we should live in the real world more. Well, to me I've come to realise a community is a community whether it be online or offline and communities are a very nice thing to have. You, on the forum have helped me a lot, and I'll always look back upon this to bring myself back when things get tough.
