Warning: cows have the right of way

The nerve of the local farmers herding their cars through towns and villages at this time of year. I had to wait 10 minutes in Schwyz today, driving at a snail's pace, until the herd in front of me finally took a side road.

So what if the cows are wearing Swiss flags and flowers. Who cares if the farmers are proudly sporting their manure-splattered Hirtehämlis and Edelweisshämlis while smoking their brissagos and showing off their herding skills. And if someone tells me again that the Suters and Betscharts have been doing this for countless generations, I'll scream.

In a country where every little thing runs on time and efficently, the cows still have the right of way. It almost makes me feel like I'm in India

PS: Tongue-in-cheek folks. Herding cows is quite fun and not as easy as it looks.
Can I start a new thread in the complaints corner about this?

I've always been slightly worried about this... in the spring time the cows are led up to the high pastures.. then in the fall they return all brushed out, wearing fancy hats and headdresses...

... just what have the farmers been doing up there?
