Re: Purchased Item - Delivered with DE not CH Mains Plug

Good Morning EFers

Just wanted to give you the e-mail I got back from the company I purchased my mixer from. No hint of a return or refund in the future...anyhow, mixer is unpacked and sitting on my counter waiting for use!

Dear Madame Drmom

Thank you for your email. We can never guarantee you, that our products are not from Germany, but however we sell always products, that can be used in switzerland. Please notice, that BOSCH items are produced in germany, if we would put a other plug on it, we would loose the warranty of this item. With the adapter we can guarantee you the full use of this product and also the safety.
I wish you a pleasant day!
Yet another company I could offer my English abilities to! To be fair, I wrote them in English and last time they replied in German, which would have been fine as well. At least they try!

The 1st machine I got was 1000 W. Other machine 1600 W, a reason why hubby wanted the "other" one
Thank you, the wattage was the missing information.

I have noticed that many EF people have little or just a poor understanding of electrical safety. It can be very dangerous, and using adaptors is very scary.

For example if you placed a 3 kilo watt heater into a 10 amp Swiss socket, the fuse might not blow straight away, but the 10 amp rated contacts are not big enough for the current and will overheat creating smoke, and eventually flames.

Almost all the fires in Swiss farms, and there are about one a week on average, can be traced to poor electrical work, probably carried out by the farmer himself.

Which is why such a product sold here would be using 3p, rather than 1p.

No, it has three round and two rectangular (a standard 1p can be plugged into the round ones).

Which reminds me that I should replace the 10A sockets in the kitchen and the end of my extension cord with 16A sockets, just in case!
