Laws on finding treasure on farmland or state land.

Hi,

Can anyone help me? If I find what is classified as 'treasure' or historic items that are not of such value on farmland or state owned property such as wild forests, does the finder have some kind of rights to it? Does it full by default to the ownership of the property owner?

If you have any information or links to such laws in CH it would be appreciated.

Thank you for any help

As I recall, it belongs to the state, regardless of whose land it is.

I think even if you find something on your own land of value, then you have to yield to Lady Helvetica.

Did you find all those gold coins I lost on that one farm a while back? They were roman right? Just let me know when/where I can pick them up. Thanks Mate

Just hold onto whatever it is for a while and when you later "discover" that it is actually worth something, you can claim it was purchased at an estate sale or one of those village sales where everyone brings their junk out to try and sell to the masses.
