Would'nt it better to make 0.25 and 0.5 coins and round up or down the prices instead of dealing with 0.05, 0.1 and 0.2?! What I think is that this economy policy (3 coins) is much beneficial for the government to control the economy.
and it made me wonder if anything costs less than 25 rappen? what's the cheapest thing that you can (commonly) buy in switzerland?

Well, it should really be a glass to tap water in a restaurant [if you are eating an expensive meal that is] but from what people have said on this forum, it obviously isn't!

There is an unmanned pumpkin stall near where I live, where you're encouraged to make a small donation into a tin before taking one...

5 pumpkins for 10 rappen is bloody good value if you ask me

Interesting topic; I think that the cheapest thing I've bought is a fly swatter for 0.75 chf at the COOP.

To be fair, I don't think that you can buy much for under a buck in the states either....

.40 .- Ice tea boxes are good value, but it's true that you can get sweets (or maybe just the one sweet) for less at your local kiosk.

Re: What's the cheapest thing you can buy?

I like the 10's and 20's.

It's the only way I can save up to pay for my daughters future education, car, wedding, etc :

(She's only 3, btw, but I thought I'd get a head start)
