Old train station?

Hi all, I am looking for a nice old train station in the Zürich area for a photo project... in or out of service doesn't matter. Would anyone happen to know about one? Many thanks!!

Can't think of any in or nearby Zürich except the main station ( Hauptbahnhof ).

Re: Old train station?

Baden is the oldest train station in Switzerland. Though it has been recently modernised, the old building remains the same from the outside, at least at the front.

Ironically enough, the SBB website has a section for properties for sale. Old buildings, most no longer in use and actually to be sold. You might find some gem amongst these listings - it takes a while to find your way around the site, but with patience it's possible. Good luck!

Look at THIS here ! The train-station of Wollishofen, which originally was the station of Zug, and now is the Restaurant Sasso !

http://www.restaurantsasso.ch/?geschichte

or the Bahnhof Enge

https://www.google.ch/search?q=Bahnh...w=1024&bih=558

or the one of Kilchberg

https://www.google.ch/search?q=Bahnh...w=1024&bih=558

or Zürich Oerlikon

http://www.google.ch/imgres?num=10&h...9,r:3,s:0,i:75

and finally the one of Rapperswil

possibly the best of them all, with its castle like appearance and proportions

I like the little one in Räfis near Sargans. It's so small...

Zürich Letten?

It stopped being used by trains in the early 1990s. It's been renovated though and is now an office of sorts, but still has an old-time train station feel to it.

For one that's still in use and is definitely getting a bit dilapidated, go to Zürich Wipkingen.

With a touch of fascist influence.

You can almost imagine Il Duce coming down the steps with his atire.

Here are the results... didn't much need a good old station after all , at least for this particular session... but the info will come in handy for further shoots!
