reminder of why I like Switzerland

Hey all,

I just came back from a few days in Paris with the family, and although we had a fun time, I was struck once again by how clean the cities are in Switzerland compared to most other big cities.

I really like Paris, but in spite of the street sweepers running every night, there was trash everywhere. I had also forgotten how people seem to be perfectly willing to let their dog poo all over the place and not even think about cleaning it up.

It makes the cigarette butts all over Geneva seem like a walk in the tulips by comparison. Shout out to Switzerland!

I know what you mean.

I'm obliged to go to England in December and I'm dreading the filth already. I'd much rather stay in clean, civilised Glarnerland than spend seven days surrounded by dogshit, rubbish and urban decay.

The point is NOT that the average Swiss is "cleaner" than others but that people in Switzerland when voting about particular aspects DO support the "cleaing brigade", are ready to support money to be spent on cleaning roads and even areas just beside the public roads. And this on the level of Cantons and of cities/towns/villages .
