Zermatt in the 70s-80s

my parents said that they went to zermatt in the 70s, and it was all horse drawn carriage and none of the electric cars. theres nothing like that anywhere now....

There still are a couple of smaller resorts where you see more horses than aything else.

Sure there are horse drawn carriages and wagons in Zermatt. Saw them, rode on them, took pictures of them... all not too long ago (within the last 2 years).

Zermatt is still prety much car free, horses and electic buggies mainly and the train to get their from Tasch, where you leave your car

no but you see about 3-4. but back then apparently it was completely horse. not one electric mobile. every one of those electric cars would have been a horse. \

Really? I was there a few years ago and there were still some around. Sure, more were electric, but horses still available.

You can't really blame resorts for moving with the times and getting more efficient means of transportation set up.

Well, there is Langstras.. ah sorry, forget that...

Try Arose - there are cars around, but some nice tours with the horse-carriage as well... make sure to dress appropriately..
