My thought of the day

Since I've spewed my guts out on a public forum and had some excellent feedback, this is whats now going through my head:

Anger and nastiness is just hurt wearing a different dress.

Now laugh if you will but there is something about airing the whirly thoughts going around your head. Even setting it down in writing, getting feedback is even better. I feel calmer and clearer now since the whole thing kicked off at the end of July.

For that I'm really grateful to the forum and to all that contributed, both positive and negative.
Cheers EF

Re: My thought of the day

Absolutely.

There is something cathartic about writing down your thoughts, problems, whatever, whether it is in a private journal or on a forum like EF.
There are some lovely, intelligent people here, the majority of whom seem to really care and want to help.
I'm so glad that you have found something positive from the advice, the sympathy and empathy that came from these friends, because that, I feel is what we all are.

There is a saying that helps me show compassion in the face of anger:

Hurt people hurt people.

Or at the risk of sounding like a cliche,

'You always hurt the one you love'.

I would say that nastiness is worst than anger.
You can do something under Anger and then you're fine again, but you can feel stupid after that.

But nastiness, you take your time to prepare what you're going to do, you can do it several times and you will appreciate it.

I agree about writing, it's very important and actually has helped me a lot.

Re: My thought of the day

Nastiness is also about one's own insecurities and fears projected onto others. Anger is sometimes expressing out grief when losing power..

Re: My thought of the day

Since quitting all animal based products a few years back, I find my mind and focus to me much sharper
True peace of mind comes from within ,most angry people are angry at themselves and take it out on those closest them.
I tweet many of my thought on twitter each day, great way of venting.
you can find me @ VeganUp
Have a great fruitful positive charged day folks

Re: My thought of the day

Yep my dear Nora...you are right !

Bottling up has never been a good thing whatsoever, whether you do it publicly...on a forum and the such like or privately, I also find writing stuff down and thus letting it out of the system helps ...A LOT!!
Of course when doing it publicly it also helps to get feedback, read others opinions or just get some understanding or so this way.

I think i need to get back to blogging too

My thought of the day 1:
Calling someone troll is sign of mental weakness.

My thought of the day 2:
If you call a real troll, troll then that would only make the so called troll happy. It's equivalent of trying to offend the pope by calling him a catholic.
