Funny how things sound for an Anglophone

There is currently a comic exhibition in Belfaux, near Fribourg. For those who are unfamilar with the French language, a comic is a "bande dessinée", or "BD" for short (pronounced bédé). The exhibition is called "Bédémania", which to me just sounds like "paedamania" and a headline in the local paper reads "Paroles pour bédéphiles", which just reads as "Parole for paedophiles"

Or is it just me?
