I can't imagine that running the water additionally through the plumbing in your fridge improves the taste at all.
Our American fridge freezer as a filter and the water tastes totally different from the tap water

Quote from article in 20 Minutes (Google translation)

"How far away from a harmful concentration are we?
It depends on the fabric. Generally one can say that most substances 10,000 to 100,000 times lower than the limit that is considered harmful."

As you were. Don't panic

Definitely don't panic. What they found where nanolevels of traces of stuff. I've yet to see mutants walking around Lausanne, have you? And what makes you think that bottled doesn't contain? I'll take my chances any day over financing the bottled racket.

Re: Will you be drinking Swiss tap water?

Maybe I'm wrong but I'm sure bottled water and 'filtered' water has only been around for the last 20 years our so.

Well looking at all those mutants over the age of 20 it must be around that time frame.

this post puts me in mind of Peckham Spring Water from the Del Boy UK TV Series, Only Fools and Horses.
He made his fortune, until the Radio Activity was found in the bottled water

Re: Will you be drinking Swiss tap water?

That, to me, would be the best reason to drink tap water.

Plus, where I live, it tastes quite nice.

Re: Will you be drinking Swiss tap water?

I have been drinking tap water for 2 years here in Switzerland. I never had any problems. For me, the water tastes the same in Aargau and Zürich. I also think that bottled water is just tap water that stays in plastic bottles for weeks or months and sometimes they are just held on shelfs that have a light source directly on them all the time so somehow I think that a light bulb warming that plastic makes the water yucky and the water just takes all the c**p from the plastic. So I avoid bottled water.

Re: Will you be drinking Swiss tap water?

The tap water in Switzerland tastes like Evian as it comes out of the tap anyway. Much better than what I used to get in London. I always drink tap water at home because all the energy and waste associated with producing and consuming crates of bottled water are unnecessary. I only drink bottled water if I need a drink when I'm out and about.

My dog occasionally drinks from the toilet bowl if he thinks nobody is looking. Should I fill it up with bottled water every day, just in case?

Re: Will you be drinking Swiss tap water?

Plastic Bottles leech chemicals from the bottle into the "drinking" water and glass bottles are sometimes still contaminated by the cleaning chemicals.
I for one like the water straight out of the fountains in Basel.

Last summer I saw French tourists by the lake in Lausanne who refused to let their dog drink from the fountain and bought it a bottle of water. I thought it was hilarious...and a bit (a lot) bonkers too.

Re: Will you be drinking Swiss tap water?

If you do drink bottled water, stay away from the OK- brand...it tastes absolutely terrible. Reason: If you check their Mineralstoff-Analyse, it has more than 1400 mg of sulfates! To put it in comparison, the Coop Prix Garantie (mit Kohlensaure--I drink tap for flat water) has 500 mg.
