What area of the law? What budget.. big guns or ambulance chaser? Most corporate lawyers speak good English.

Not corporate, just a normal general practice type to represent an individual.
I dont know the system here, back in the UK you would just go to a normal solicitor first!

You should try:

http://www.kanonengasse.ch/

I know there are English-speaking lawyers there (don't know if they are ALL english-speaking, but some of them definitely are).

If you need to ask... It can range from 200-600chf+ an hour depending on the firm, seniority and area.

A lot of people here subscribe to legal insurance as part of their third party liability cover (personal and auto) that will help soften the pain, especially if you are the one being sued for something.

Thanks a lot for this tip. I'll speak to my insurance broker tomorrow.
