But as it looks right now, it affects all areas. The exception in Switzerland might be Basel which with its 200 meters above sealevel is practically "on the beach"
I like the thought of us living on the beach here. Thanks .

Smartarse reply: The cold winters we get are in fact connected to global warming. The poles are getting warmer and the cold artic winds that used to be locked in now get through and create cold here. That is, in short, a not so scientific explanation, but true.

Re: Severe weather alarm

Well, all that miserable travel chaos leaves me feeling very smug.

I've got a bit of a sore head today, but it was worth it - I had dinner at my friend's who lives just past Triemli in Zurich & has a wonderful view of Uetliberg from his balcony, so we ate, had a delicious bottle of wine & then we fired up the BBQ for warmth & retired to the balcony for a cigar & schnapps & ended up sinking the bottle, utterly mesmerised by the beautiful silence & falling snow.

Bloody lovely evening.

Well, if I use a telescope, I can see snow!

My daughter's friends were so worried about the 2mm of snow, they spent the night!

We finally had a good 10-14 cm of snow in Geneva. Not bad. It seems Christmas could be a white Christmas again

Re: Severe weather alarm

We didn't get the much predicted snow over the weekend. So unless it starts snowing again over night, we should be smooth sailing back to work tomorrow morning.

SOS. View outside the window gets overshadowed by white stuff. If it goes like that whole night I will need to shovel the road outside... I love it though - counting the days to hit the slopes
