Sorry, mine was really cool.

Christmas is by definition a bit crappy. Says Grinchie here.

Did Santa not bring everything you wanted?

Re: So who is going to admit it?

Over the years I've become the biggest loather of xmas. But this year I have to say I had a very nice xmas. The GFs family were wonderful and nothing was OTT. It was very low key with emphasis on good food, wine and company. Nobody got stressed about the need to put on a performance which for me made all the difference.

I'd have to say I had a wonderful wee holiday.

I'll still insist that xmas is a pain in the nuts, but if they keep this up I'll be more than happy to contribute and enjoy it. If it's about family and friends and not about making a big scene, then the GF family is on to a winning formula.

Re: So who is going to admit it?

Sorry to hear it was so shite . Hope things have cleared up in the mean time.

It was the first Xmas away from home and with the new mother in-law for me.

Lots of good food, german beer, mulled wine, skype and general chilling helped minimise any potential issues. No stress or fannying about. Pressies were not OTT either. Just small, fun things with a personal touch.

Bring on New Year... There is talk of climbing Rigi and celebrating it up there with a thermos of mulled wine or 3...

Re: So who is going to admit it?

Mine was fair to moderate.

I do not know what possessed me to think that because I was lucky enough to be without family, I should go spend it with cousins in Austria.

I was carted around from relo to relo, and the whole 3 days was in German. This was alright for the first day and a half, but then I started getting tired, and could not concentrate. I think they were talking about windows, which is by no means stimulating, even in English

Also, on Christmas day, when my cousins suggested that we go sledding, I found out they were not joking when they said that we had to hike up a mountain for 1.5 hours.

I was also surprised at the lack of hot food, considering it was -13.

But hey, I did manage to pick up some Sacher Torte from the Hotel Sacher on the way home, and my mate Sas went overboard at the Australian shop in London on the way here. Tim Tams rule.

Re: So who is going to admit it?

Went to UK - my mother broke her arm falling down the back door steps on the 24th.
Me , my wife and brother cooked Christmas dinner and it was the best meal we have had for ages.
My Step Son had KFC for first time in 4 years and we spent Boxing day down a Very Nice Indian restaurant.
Got flashed by a speed camera on the M62 roadworks - but I have a swiss license - not sure if the Hertz will forward my fine. But who cares!

Could have been much worse - even the jumper my mum got me looks nice - or maybe I am getting older
Off ski-ing tomorrow and do not have to go back to work until thursday next week. Got some nice Humbugs and Uncle Joes mintballs and 2 minutes after I press "Submit Reply" I am going to make a cheese and onion toastie with the fresh Cheshire Cheese I brought back with me. Life could be worse

My Christmas F%*king RoCKeD, good company, good food, good presents and a wonderful atmosphere, couldn't ask for more. Too bad yours sucked, perhaps Santa is going to be nicer next time 'round, or were you perhaps naughty this year?

Re: So who is going to admit it?

The jury is still out....its been fine so far, no tears or tantrums (touch wood) but there are still 5 days to go and its getting to the hectic running about trying to see everyone before I go back bit, which makes me wish I was back in ZH already Of course the second I get back I'll wish I was still in Ireland typical
