Re: Just had me head kicked in

LOL, some people take themselves way too seriously (not mentioning any names). Lob.

Anyway, as I recall I read a post from (I think) the original poster about her husband making a comment to the kid kicking the door as they walked out. Fair enough. But he should have left it at that and walked on and taken his bird home. And yet he didn't. He had to have the last say and speak again - make a fuss about it. That's why he got a kicking. The man has no common sense and while I won't go as far to say that he got what was coming to him for multitude reasons, in this case he did bring the trouble on. In that respect, I have no sympathy. He outright and blatantly asked for more trouble of his own volition. Booze was probably involved and he came off worse for it. Tough. Next time, keep your mouth shut and if you feel that strongly about it - walk around the corner and call the Police. It's their job - they get paid for it. And it wasn't his door either. So the big man didn't get laid that night and a lot more besides. Go figure.

Please don't give me any self-satisfying woolly liberal clap-trap about "zero tolerance" blah, blah, blah. I'm afraid it doesn't wash - but the real world does.

You know the OP is a woman because a couple of posts ago you stated that women need a slap from time to time. Now you're leaking about something else.

You know that Oldhand is a woman that was flung to the ground and attacked, yet you have no sympathy and seem to think the right thing happened.

I'd like to know what real world you live in if what you think washes.

You're such a knob.

Re: Just had me head kicked in

It's pointless criticising junos on this thread or in general really - I've banned him for 4 weeks for the trolling and attempted stalking of yours truly. The forum is not where personal wars should be waged - and of course trolling is also not welcome.

If you have anything on-topic to state, carry on - otherwise please stop.

Re: Just had me head kicked in

I am very sorry to read about what happened to you. I dont think anyone deserves to be beaten up-and that should be the norm!! From what you have told you did nothing wrong-that is the bottom line! One should expect people to behave, and not blame others for being naive because they should have known better! this was an attack by people who like seeing people getting scared or getting beaten up! They are obviously troubled people and should therefor be dealt with in a proper way (by the law)-its awful and you should report it!

this problem with skinheads or "not helping people in trouble" is not special for Switzerland. Its a growing problem all over Europe. In Mosow and St. Petersburg foreigners with a different ethnical appearance has been warned by Amnesty to whatch out for gangs of skinheads. And you hear of incidents in the news. What is so bad about it is that these people are very violent, troubled and so full of hate-thinking that all foreigner pollute their country and stealing work. They are often people of troubled homes, have low education and have no work. Instead of doing something constructively with their problem (which is not easy either, when many of them never have been influencenced in the right way)-they turn to hate! Its easy as to hate foreigners-they are "easy" to pick on-they look different and some dress differently! racism is a sickness in the society and its important to deal with it! (okej-now I got that out of my chest)

I really hope that you will feel better soon!!!

best wishes

A friend of mine, an Indian was attacked in Aarau by 8 Nazi teenagers.
He was walking to the Bahnhof and suddenly this entourage darted out of a side ally. They punched him in the eye. Knocked him to the floor and kicked him in the face repeatedly. Some of them had sticks and pounded on him with that too.

It was reported to the police. Three of the miscreants were caught. Two under 18, they pretended to apologise to get off with a lighter sentence. My friend was promised a court case. Almost one year later, still no case in court. But he now has diminished vision in his one eye, and a crack in his skull.
Wow! For real? Stuff like that is plain SICK!
Any guy that lifts hand on a woman or for that matter any innocent person needs to have their fingers broken one by one. If my near and dear ones get beaten like that then I will definitely take matters into my own hand

Re: Just had me head kicked in

A Swiss friend and I were standing at the tram stop at Pfister in KleinBasel the Friday after Fasnacht. We always talk English because she likes to keep in practice.

A guy came over to me and said (in Basel Dialect) that I had 15 seconds to b***er off (abhaue), then he returned to waiting for the tram.

I understood him, but since it seemed so bizarre and unconnected with anything, we just looked at each other and continued chatting.

True to his word, 15 seconds later, he came over and thumped me in my stomach. I doubled over, but before he got the boot in, my friend yelled "Hey, Goh'ts noo" in perfect dialect (she's from Basel). This sent him back to his corner.

I was totally puzzled, but she explained that for some Basler people, Fasnacht is the only time they get their city back from foreigners, and it probably riled him to hear us speaking English.

His tram came before ours and I wondered if we should follow him, but we decided to leave it.

***

I have also been attacked at random by a Thai guy, presumably for being "Swiss". This time, the blow was to my jaw and came out of the blue as I crossed Basel's middle bridge. His friends grabbed him and held him back and, all smiles, signalled to me to please just go on. I didn't feel much pain at the time, but I had a bit of a shiner the next morning.

Re: Just had me head kicked in

I had a knife pulled on me a few years ago in Bern on a Thursday evening at the Loebecke. Thursday the stores are open until 9pm in Bern and the Loebecke is a really busy place. Some kid wanted my wallet so he pulled out a knife and demanded my wallet. I felt pretty safe in my environment as there were so many people around so I argued with him and laughed in his face but all things considered, I was quite shaken by the whole thing and would probably not do that again. No-one came to aid though a lot of people stood around and watched.
Another time a skin head slapped me in the face on the bus home because I got on the bus before him. His "reasoning" was that women should know their place. Again, no one did anything. The bus driver though intervened because I was yelling the bus down and he threw me off the bus for disturbing the other passengers. He wouldn't listen to reason even though the skin head was telling him he had slapped me. Just one of those without rhyme or reason moments.

I am really sorry to hear what happened to you.

I'm not female.

Tell you what tho', my (female) friend was hefty and aggressive and had a better chance of sorting this fellow out than I'd have.

Hiya all, I'm alright, I think they could have really hurt me if they wanted to. I didn't go to the police as what Planthead said about having a beer coat on, was the case. I wouldn't be able to tell them much it all happened and was over so fast. My head is still sore, maybe my New Year's resolution should be drink less and keep my mouth shut!
Having some beer or speek up to somthing dose not mean the cops should ignor such incident. you still should report it .But the importend thing is your OK: BTW. My son is a cop in toronto , and if he would ignor it I kick his ass

Re: Just had me head kicked in

similar thing happened to me. my friend had met a guy one afternoon by lake zurich and arranged to meet that evening for a drink. she asked me to go with her. he was full of himself all night, going on about how great his life in america was. anyway the end of the night came and as we were walking to the tram at central he said oh my last train has gone and i will have to stay over at your flat. we both tried to tell him no, and then he said who do you think you are, is it because you are white and english (i'm welsh!) and i said who do you think you are is it because you are black and american, big mistake, he knocked me out. my friend and i were shocked, luckly i was still holding my hotdog which i threw at his head and screamed loads of swear words at him. he ran off, but i was told to shut up and made to feel like i was baddie, no gave a toss!
