and what else was there to do ? how was stadelhofen and seefled area ?

Most of Seefeld was simply a residential quarter. Stadelhofen before the S-Bahn link to HB was opened and before the Bhf Stadelhofen was rebuilt on the basis of the planning of Mr Calatrava was just a minor rail-station of no relevance. People from the eastern shores of the Zürisee enroute to HB had to change in Tiefenbrunnen onto the tram 2 and switch at Paradeplatz onto 7 or 11 or 13

There WAS a raillink from Stadelhofen to HB, but that was via Bahnhof Letten

Oh, snap! Me too. Shame I arrived over 20 years later though ........
Prices are largely unchanged in that time.

And on to petrol stations. These were manned until late into the 80's and you'd automatically get your windscreen cleaned by the person filling up your car.
That was swiss customer service at its best. And - they didn't expect a tip.
Still happens at my local independent station on Thalwiesenstrasse (Kreis 3).

Something else comes to mind. The Swiss Post Office used right-hand drive vehicles so that the postmen didn't have to get out on the road; there were also a fair number of lorries with right-hand drive. Lorries were restricted to 28 tons.

Also its a honor to hear these stories from the early settlers.

And in the 1950ies, there were no Blue Jeans available. The first ones ("Lee") were sold in about 1961 in a store in Stauffacherstrasse. My brother and me were among the first who had jeans, and it was almost "immoral" in those days, particularily to wear them in school.

We moved to Ticino (well, at least five of us former Twisters did).

Tom
Hi everyone,
This is a long shot I know, but I am trying to find someone who used to hang out at the Oliver Twist bar in the late 1979s/1980
A man called patrick , I know it is a long shot but anyone who used to go there remember a man with dark hair, tall , thin and was friends with the owner Sean ?
