Re: GIGANTIC spiders in Switzerland...

Our garden-level apartment normally becomes infested by spiders every September. After being bitten by one last year on the leg and having a huge, extremely itchy red bump on my leg from it, I decided to try to do something about it this year. I found an anti-spider "insect barrier" spray by the name of "Repulzid" at Coop Bau & Hobby and sprayed it around the walls to our apartment in the garden and around window and door frames, and the spider infestation has been extremely minimal this year. So either that stuff really does work or the spiders just haven't been nearly as bad this year, for some reason (?).

Apparently, peppermint oil mixed with water can help keep them away, too (and it is a more bio approach). But I've found that it doesn't seem to work nearly as well as this Repulzid stuff.

Spiders are a sign of a healthy home!!

But you are right, this year it has been less. We normally get those big housespidets in the basement. Some get adventurous & decide to explore the rest of the house....
But I have gotten adventurous, too Now I dare to put a glass over them & slide a piece of paper underneath and back to the basement they go
I dont have the heart to put them out into the cold
