Depending on how dead your bike is, you might want to look to the places where they salvage stolen and lost bikes. They butcher them for parts and build amazing bikes from it. And they're really cheap. You can even go and have a custom bike made for like 500 bucks.

There's a project called Velowerkstatt in the German speaking part of the country and I'm sure the Romands have a similar thing going on. You could call your local police precinct, they know where their stolen bikes end up.
