SAMSUNG Galaxy Alpha SM-G850F, Silver - CHF 476 @ Microspot
Aesthetically and build quality-wise this is everything the Galaxy S5 should have been.

| | Re: The "I found a deal/bargain" thread... | Quote: | | | | | A Samsung 840 EVO 500GB is the same price and just as fast in real-world situations, so that's not such a good deal really. They are just reducing the already high price to compete. | | | | | Well it's a bit different, especially that 840 evo had some bugs and require firmware upgrade.
Also the intel730 is faster-
But yeah, I notice the 850 or 850 pro, are around same price range approx +=100chf, and they have additional features such as encryption hw...
Anywy the 840 evo is approx 218chf at microspot ( I don't count crappy online shops).
This one, with cashback, is 170chf!
Still approx 20% cheaper!
Also the evo 840 has 3 years warranty, this one has 5.

I read many review prior to purchase it, it seems a very decent SSD!
But... it's sold out already (as already said by someone earlier) |

I know Beats by Dre may not be to everyone's taste, but if you are into them then this is the best price I've found for the Top of the line Pro model... in Conforama of all places. CHF 299 down from CHF 499 (409 is the cheapest on toppreise)

There's a sale on Kitchen Aid standmixers for ~479 CHF with a bunch of accessories included in Pfister today (of all places). Generally about 1K CHF

COOP Bau & Hobby in Thalwil have some stuff on sale piled high - one thing that caught my eye was the Dyson DC52 with allergy pack at 50% discount. (can't remember the exact price, but should be less than Fr.300).

Samsung - 4k 55inch curved TV.
So before the CHF did its little dance in mid-Jan, I bought this for 1399chf (sale from 2200 I think — so I don't exactly get how it dropped by 600 off the original price in just a month). I think the pricing laws and advertising are slightly misleading at times with that store.
In any case, when I did some digging back in Dec (late - Xmas eve sadly enough) — the average price was somewhere between 1600-1800euros for the past 12 months so the 1400chf was a first reasonably low price I came across.
My evaluation — a month in to having a TV for the first time in over 9 years — is... well positive. I expected to be annoyed (I'm not), or to just leave it as a huge wall decoration (I actually watch it).
So, it is a good deal even if the pricing scheme at Interdiscount would likely not be legal in most countries (or at least not consumer-loyalty centric) ... and while the box and TV weight about a ton if you are dumb enough to decide to carry across town on a tram , once it is sitting handsomely on the TV stand, my bet is that it would stay upright through an earthquake... and yet it is still somehow quite slim. I was actually originally put-off by the overly-detailed resolution but I figured out a couple tricks to "dumb it back to warm and blurry"... so happily using an awesome TV at about 50% its potential/intended resolution.
Right, so I give it 2 thumbs up. Take a look; seems like it is perpetually on sale so maybe another one in March... but in any case, a good deal on a TV with solid reviews. Also found this — http://pricespy.co.uk/product.php?p=2766444 showing quite high prices quoted in GBP. And I saw a foreign language review before I bought it (seemingly happy though I couldn't understand him) on YouTube giving multiple thumbs up so that was encouraging. http://www.interdiscount.ch/idshop/p...ved/detail.jsf
Though now that I look, this castes some doubt: but it isn't the most informative review I have seen... http://www.kagoo.com/TVs-Monitors-Pr...E55HU7100.html |

Just for your information: https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product...=1423521110332
These are all the 4K TVs available from Digitec at the moment, the cheapest starting at CHF 598 (40"), then a 58" at CHF 899, a curved 65"(!) Samsung at CHF 1799.
The Interdiscount model Digitec seem to have at https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product...650?tagIds=538 at CHF 1099.
I am going all antsy looking forward to the next round of price cuts, where huge 4K (flat panel) displays really drop even more in price. 75" at CHF 1000 should be doable in a no-frills panel, just some HDMI, RJ45, WiFi input.

| | Re: The "I found a deal/bargain" thread... https://www.eboutic.ch/sales
Also, while I am at it.... while I despise the customer service of this site, and generally despise myself ever more for ever giving them a red cent of my [most-often, as cheap as they come] business, they regularly offer deals on brand names that are difficult to match even when compared to the rest of Europe - let alone in CH. Also, they have low shipping rates for most in-country items.
They are unpredictable about when the goods arrive (could be 2 days, could be 2 months) and most of the non-brand-name items they offer receive horrible reviews, but if you know what you like, and you know your sizes/preferences, there are deals to be had. I ordered a sofa-pullout-bed (awesome quality, 1/3 the going rate), a bunch of fitness gear (literally 1/2 the price of amazon.de/uk) and a remote sensing powder-room garbage bin with matching kitchen knife set {Echtwerk} (the bin is a bit excessive, but quite the conversation starter).
I have since ordered about 4x as many ultra-sharp knives as a family of 8 would need, 6 pairs or running shoes (4 too many I might add) and an office chair that looks to be pretty bad-as*. I have also "almost" bought about 50 things though I force myself to sleep on the "shopping basket" and then tend to forget I had the idea in the first place. So I regret having not pulled the proverbial trigger (bought more) for a few key items... although I noticed that stuff comes back on eventually, so I am waiting patiently for the storage bins I saw in November and in the meantime just piling things in random corners around my flat.
And most of all, I enjoy the "surprise nature" of each new day bringing with it a good 30 mins of research to figure out if something is grossly overpriced or the deal of a swiss-expat's-lifetime. It has become something of a personal challenge to tease out the completely ridiculous from the down-right steals offered.
You have to include an email address which is a downer, but I have tried groupon, and deindeal along with a host of other daily-deal sites, and this is the only one I ever found to be of reasonable value. Look out for "import charges" and avoid those deals... focus on brand names, and get in early and often (best sizes sell out quickly). And no, I don't work for them -- my admiration for this site is surpassed only by my sincere distain for them (I made the mistake of calling their help line one day... an hour of my life that I will never get back) -- but if you are in the market for home-delivery of random stuff that is cool but you overlook on any given weekend shopping spree, then this is one good spot to keep an eye on.
Right, so on that note, I will return to EF obscurity only to pop-up another time to provide long run-on sentences, generally difficult to follow opinions and puzzle-like suggestions and recommendations.

It was priced at £35,000 (CHF 51,500 at the time). You can buy the latest version of that TV here, now, for CHF 13k. Wait another 6 months and pick up any size UHD TV for CHF 500 with a free smartphone thrown in ...

So this week is the "Beauty Week" in Coop with 25% reduced items, however their official description lacks details on what exactly is reduced.
I understand that skincare, toothpaste, hair dye, hair care products, gillete stuff, makeup are reduced. But had impression that also these are reduced but was not sure:
- hansaplast, vitamins (saw them displayed together with discounted items at the entrance too coop city at bellevue), nail things (e.g. scissors), combs, cotton pads, etc.
All these things had 25% sign somewhere close by, but not sure if it refers to indeed all these items...
p.s.1 I saw that some brands, e.g. Weleda, are on 25x points this week. If it is combined with the 25% discount it should add up to something close to 50% off
p.s.2 yes, I was lazy/shy to ask directly in coop actually in my experience the sales personal may not know correctly sometimes

I am still VERY happy with my Samsung UE50HU6900, which for 777chf has been an absolute champ.

If you like Chicoree shops and happen to be in the Bern train station this week, they have a heck of a sale going on. I found out by accident because I was killing time before my train.
Virtually everything from shorts, tank tops, t-shirts, sweaters, jackets, jeans, etc. is marked down an additional 50%. Yesterday I bought a comfy 100% cotton t-shirt and a pair of leggings for just 3 Francs. Total. I couldn't believe my ears or my eyes at the cash register. I'd just paid more than that for the coffee in my hand. I had no time to shop more but I will definitely be going back this week!
I asked the clerk how long the sale would last and she said she wasn't sure but probably until the end of the week. Happy shopping!
