Re: The "I found a deal/bargain" thread...

Discovered this second -hand art and craft supply place:

https://www.offcut.ch/zh/de.html

They have lots of fabric, beads, wool, wood, tiles, etc etc etc. great if you are crafter or artist... or preschool teacher

Prices were very reasonable for a second-hand place...

And this Brockenhaus is the cheapest I have found in Zurich:

https://www.brockisiril.ch/

picked up some coloured paper and cardboard, and plenty of bric-a-brac and some enamelled 'cloisonne' style items...just be warned, it's quite a mess... they are seriously not interested in the actual value of anything, just as long as it's coming and and going out the door... but things are generally classified into areas... Two bags full of stuff. 20chf.

Brocki-land is very high turnover this week. Don't go there if you want to social distance... people are 'trying' but it's crazy...

Re: The "I found a deal/bargain" thread...

Not a deal per se but I have been looking for this for a while. Four or five years ago a colleague introduced us to a professional stain removing / pre-treatment product for clothes called EsaCol from Diversey. At the time it was available from Aligro.

Fast forward, it was no longer stocked when we ran out and asked at Aligro. Looked elsewhere but no luck. Yesterday I was in our local Aligro and they had it again in a 750ml spray bottle for just under CHF 10.- (see photos).

This products works miracles and it has saved many a shirt.

Re: The "I found a deal/bargain" thread...

Qoqa ch have absolute bargain offer for 1 gbit internet for 39 CHF per month (you can watch 230 tv channels for 20 CHF per month)

I called upc to cancel the contract only to be given the same price as the qoqa deal for the current package of 90 CHF that I pay

Told a friend about it and he got -50% off his package for 1 year, it guess Internet companies are aware of the qoqa deal and are discounting heavily just to stay with them

Call and try you can only gain even if you don't want to change provider

I considered posting it this morning but I didn't as the deal is not as good as in previous years. I have the old one and pay approx. 20 CHF per month for 1 Gb, including the combination discount.
For TV, I'm using the free version of Zattoo but I actually use it only to watch sports.

I bet they aware of Salt with their aggressive internet+tv for 40 chf. Some of my collegues switched there from old QoQa's Sunrise internet for 29 chf. I will wait until mine expires.

WRS is offering their listeners discounts from their advertisers here. Some are in the Geneva area, but others apply countrywide.

But, IMHO, the pies offered by lepies.ch don’t hold a candle to Legend’s pies (pies.ch)

Don’t shoot the messenger, please.

You made me remember something on my mind - what cheap but good alternative is there for an overprocessed whey hamburger bun or hotdog/saussage bread? Anyone?

I love the meat part but never like the nutrition-void calories-packed bread part of the traditional burger bun.

Maybe whole grain, or a wrap, even, woould do for me. I found grainy Mission wraps (Casino or Denner w/o grains) to be quite good and inexpensive but am losing inspiration lately.

Should be, discounts on masks by COOP started a few weeks ago, it's not a "today only". Last time I bought a box of 50 it was 50% too (but more than 18 CHF).
