Re: The "I found a deal/bargain" thread...

This is actually the opposite of a good deal, I guess... Today, I noticed on the home24.ch website that the set of side tables I've been wanting is now shown as being 30% off for Black Friday week, but it's exactly still the same price as it's been for the past 6+ months.

I wonder how often websites do this... Claim that something is on sale as a scheme to convince people they're getting a good deal when actually it's the same price as usual.

Yes, it's quite widespread, and if caught, the fines are ridiculously small.

These guys (the link) are a digital marketing company. They do have an email (support@alao.ch) and phone number. I would suggest you call them (043 508 80 42). They may refer you over to Wingo.
If you actually TALK to wingo on the phone, it costs, remember that when/if you call them.
The person who asked about changing the contract might find info about it in their customer-account on the wingo website.

Re: The "I found a deal/bargain" thread...

Sharing the favorite deal we found this winter... since many of the deals seem to be online anyway

We are big fans of the Baabuk/Glerups felted wool slippers (much better than synthetic) but ours are worn out and we don't love the 70 franc price tag. Finally found an even better replacement on ebay - plain felted wool slippers (without the leather/rubber sole that we never liked) and even in bright colors. (I am ONLY a purchaser of these.)

According to the seller Timur's messages these are from a Kazakh charity that gets them from Nepal and supports people with prosthetic hands. I can't confirm the back story, but these slippers cost about 1/3 the price of the Glerups (20 francs per pair shipped to CH, no combined shipping though), are beautifully warm and comfortable, and smoother/quieter on floors as there's no extra sole. We have 3 and have 4 more on order for family.

Downsides: shipping from Kazakhstan takes 4-5 weeks. Sizes only 35-42 (bit roomy and fits one size up). No red color available in the larger sizes. The ebay listing is a little disconcerting, partly in Russian and encourages you to specify the size via WhatsApp (what??!) but it all works out well and the seller writes back in perfect English.

You'll likely find them if you search the Bay for "Homemade, slippers from felt (100% wool), handmade. Heat, health, ecology. Nepal" - by taki_61.

For anyone with Philips Hue devices or other similar tech, you can get a Smart Plug at Lidl that is compatible with the Hue app for just 15chf. You just connect them and the app identifies them just like a Philips Hue one (these cost 40chf).

I purchased a few, which allowed me to get the discounted vignette.

Only today, you can get an amazing deal on a Sunrise subscription.

Each month:
unlimited talk and surfing (4G/5G) in switzerland.
60 minutes to US and Europe
unlimited talking, surfing and texting when you are in europe, USA and canada. (capped at 40GB)
1 extra SIM that you can use for the features above (or just pop into an IPAD)

all for 39 CHF per month

Best part is, it's not a promotional price for 12 or 24 months, its valid as long as you have the contract.

I'm tempted to upgrade from their 2013 offer (which is only 29Fr/mo)

I was looking at it too. I have the 2018 offer of 49 CHF (41 after discounts) but noticed that the main difference is that this offer doesn't include unlimited calls to Europe + US + CA. That makes it less attractive to me.

I can see the benefits, I also have the 2018 option for 55 chf a month. I opted to "downgrade" as I rarely talk more than one hour per month. For those living near the border of one of the neighbor countries it is even better. YOu could hop ove to Germany and talk to France unlimited

They're got more zigbee standard stuff on sale this Monday (so will work with the Hue gateway) including a motion sensor.

I've bought an E27 bulb from Lidl over the weekend. Was easy to connect to the Hue bridge. Interestingly, the color of the light is a bit colder when switching on but this changes after a couple of seconds.

LIDL is back with their offer of CHF 29.- for the 2021 Vignette.

Available on Jan. 11, 12, 13 only!

Spend CHF 70.- and you can buy the Vignette. Only one per total order even if it is more than CHF 140.-. If you want more than one Vignette you would need to split out your shopping in groups of CHF 70.- to take advantage of the deal for more than one Vignette. Bring the kids along !

Wow, a whole 10chf saving with the only caveat being that you need to go to Lidl and spend 70chf? Bargain of the century. It was muc better when Lidl and Aldi were doing the for a discount with no prchases needed in late December.

Obi is doing them for 30chf with no other purchases needed. https://www.preispirat.ch/obi-autoba...nstatt-chf-40/

I need to grab one myself! There's Obi so close to me though and I don't want to spend 70chf in Lidl... after comparing both extensively I much prefer Aldi now. Much better selection and higher quality stuff.

Have a look at Verbier's posts higher up this thread. Back in December, Aldi had a minimum spend of CHF 100 (including the vignette at CHF 29.95) and Lidl had the same offer as this month: minimum spend 70.- to qualify for a vignette at 29.-. As pointed out, the OBI offer is the least generous of the three.

I'd happily take a 10% discount at Lidl. Many tips in this thread offer way less than that.

Obi is the least generous? It's a 10chf discount with no minimum spend vs an 11chf discount with 70chf minimum spend at Lidl. Obi is way better due to the no minimum spend... as long as you have one within a reasonable distance of course. Sadly it's a 40 minute round trip by public transport for me so no chance would I go out of my way for that kind of peanuts saving.

I'll just wait to see if Aldi have one last deal or pay the extra 10chf at my local petrol station. Next year I will bear in mind that early December is the best time to buy.
