Obi is way better due to the no minimum spend... as long as you have one within a reasonable distance of course. Sadly it's a 40 minute round trip by public transport for me so no chance would I go out of my way for that kind of peanuts saving.
I'll just wait to see if Aldi have one last deal or pay the extra 10chf at my local petrol station. Next year I will bear in mind that early December is the best time to buy. | | | | | There is a 100CHF minimum spend at OBI

"with a minimum purchase of CHF 100.-".
Why would you take public transport if you have a car or motorbike? Or is the vignstte for a Valentine's Day gift? | | | | | Ahh my bad sorry, I completely missed the 100chf minimum spend as it wasn't in the Preispirat title like usual. In that case none of the deals are worth it for me and I will just wait to see if Aldi do another before the month is out. Otherwise I will just buy one from the petrol station close to my house.
As for why I am not taking my car on a 40 minute trip into busy Zurich to save a whopping 10chf on a vignette, I will assume that was a light-hearted rhetorical question. |

Tons of deals at melectronics at the moment guys, you can find summaries on Preispirat.ch https://www.preispirat.ch/
I suggest checking Preispirat.ch regularly, it's a useful site and you always can share anything special you find here in this thread. | This user would like to thank Chuff for this useful post:

That's because they'll be worthless soon when everybody has to wear FFP2 masks (or what they're called), just like in Germany.

But Aldi is German and they are trying to get rid of their masks here while they can for - I suspect - exactly the reasons you mentioned. |

Total price was 115chf, cheaper than other places I saw for CE certified, SGS tested masks. I haven't received them yet though.

I noticed they claim (I'm using the YX152 mask example, the webiste is a bit "nervous" and it takes some scrolling to it) one mask costs Fr. 1.62/pc without VAT and Fr. 1.75 incl. VAT. A pack of 20 Fr. 34.90
But when you place an order then go on to payments they charge you the Fr. 34.90 per box PLUS VAT.
I may be nitpicking here and yes, they would still be cheap but a website that is unknown to me that provides me with false prices may also provide me with false quality-info.
Does the "only until 21.1.2021" change daily too?

You can't mandate something when there are no stocks of them in the country.

Germany did just change the rules on masks and now cloth masks are forbidden in shops and on public transport (except long-distance trains).
FFP2 masks are now mandatory only for staff in nursing homes. https://www.thelocal.de/20210120/wha...port-and-shops | The following 3 users would like to thank Polymath for this useful post:

Aldi is getting in on the FFP2 sales. As of yesterday they are selling boxes of 50 FFP2 masks for CHF 50.-
Here is a Google EN translation of a LeMatin article and the article link. From Saturday (24.01), the discounter will offer the box of 50 masks for 50 francs. An unbeatable price on the Swiss market.
The price war around FFP2 masks has started in Switzerland. Indeed, Aldi will sell on Saturday the box of 50 masks for 50 francs, or for 1 franc the mask. An unbeatable price in the country since Migros and Coop offer them for example between 4 and 5 francs a piece.
As a reminder, FFP2 masks are the most filtering masks on the market, since they block 94% of aerosols, the finest particles (around 0.6 micrometers). Theoretically reserved for caregivers, their purpose is to protect the person wearing them, in particularly risky situations. For this, they conform to the shape of the face and do not yawn, unlike other masks. (The article is not quite correct because there is the FFP3 mask which filters 99%)
Faced with the emergence of more contagious variants of the coronavirus, Austria and Bavaria have decided to impose FFP2 in shops and transport. Switzerland is also considering doing the same, but the measure is causing criticism, given the price of the masks. For many doctors and scientists, while it is essential in the medical world, it is not most of the time for the general public.
But the demand is there, underlines Aldi, and it is constantly increasing. The discounter also specifies that all of its staff will be equipped for work free of charge.
What about the classic mask?
The ones that everyone wears are called “surgical masks”. Also from the medical field, these plastic masks (polypropylene) have burst into our lives with the Covid. Almost everyone now knows that they are worn white face to the face and blue to the outside.
Unlike FFP2, the surgical mask is not primarily intended to protect the wearer, but to prevent it from infecting those around it. If everyone wears it, it can therefore provide collective protection. The surgical mask blocks at least 95% of the 3 micron particles. Like the FFP2, it is advisable not to wear it for more than four hours.

That is a crazy good price and way below market price! I wonder if there will be any left tomorrow because I imagine people will buy them in bulk.

EDIT - All out of stock, they (unsurprisingly) sold out on the day. Ahh, next time...

I just received my order of FFP2 / N95 masks from Safemask.ch and instead of the 60 masks I paid for, they have very generously sent me 120. That makes it 90r per mask... wtf!
I just tried one on and they are all individually wrapped in their own plastic bag and seem VERY high quality and premium... they are built like tanks with very strong straps. I doubt these are easy to break unlike the crappy blue masks. https://safemask.ch/onlineshop/ExiIn...Cft-p281957393
Very happy.

I love their "all lives matter" tagline. It's just so Swiss to steal an alt-right slogan without understanding it.
