Hi everyone!

My birthday is coming up soon (this friday actually) and I understand that the tradition is to bring treats to work for your coworkers. So i have to bring something for maybe 50/60 people on Friday..... Can anyone share ideas of what to bring? Share your experience as well?

Thanks!

Re: What treats to bring to work on your birthday?

Personally, I tend to bring things in I've made myself, perhaps something unusual that my co-workers may not have eaten before. I find it's cheaper... and I enjoy baking.

For example, for my last birthday I made my special dairy-and-gluten-free chocolate cake and got everyone to guess the secret ingredient. I cut it up ahead of time into fairly small sections and people just helped themselves.

This week I am going to be making a Christmas cake to bring in on Christmas eve.

Usually i book myself off work and go on a mini holiday on my birthday. In case this treat is not enough for them, i bring homemade cookies when i come back

A couple of tubes of Smarties should be enough to go round.

Oooh, my first groan... not quite sure what I said that was so controversial, but at least I'm off the mark
Probably a mistake. On the Ipad or Phone my fat fingers often click groan by accident!

In the department where I work, you make a cake or bring Gipfeli... or a Zuger Kirschtorte if you're feeling really decadent. But there are only 20 of us, not 60...

Maybe she thought that Zuger Kirschtorte was a pop out cake or something...
This happen when someone includes the "decadent" thing in a sentence.

Seriously...so much fuss for a groan?

I actually got upest when I got my first groan...

Then I realised it probably meant I was spending too much time here! Back to real life!

I always bring some Belgian chocolates, "pralines" I get from my hometown local chocolatier. It makes him very proud that his chocolates get exported to Switzerland and colleagues love the chocolates, everybody happy .

Would a Sushi Apero be appropriate? I've been doing sushi as hobby and make some decent ones...

Re: What treats to bring to work on your birthday?

In the old office there was a kitchen with a microwave. I used to bring bacon, rolls and a bottle each of ketchup / HP sauce.

I love this tradition!
Even though I have to bring on my own birthday, I get back invites to cookies and cakes every week or so from one of the other colleagues birthday

Re: What treats to bring to work on your birthday?

How about make this batter at home and bring it to work, pour them into coffee mugs at work and everyone can make their own in the microwave in 2 mins.

Re: What treats to bring to work on your birthday?

I treat workmates to carrot and chocolate cakes. Before, I used bring a home made cheese-cake but times get tough which would require outsourcing ingredients from LCC
