| | Krankenkasse: possible reduction of price?
Hello
I understood that it might be possible to get some money back from the krankenkasse if you dont do any reporting of illness during the year.
Is that correct ?
Thank you again for your replies |

Not really, but you can lower your tariff, and you must change before 28.11.13

Thank you, I have maxed out on 2500, but have a basic insurance (any doctor i want and i dont need to call first)
Would you recommend the family doctor or the call med first?

My insurer offers a no-claims rebate (Leistungsfreiheitsrabatt) on the supplementary insurance, but not on the obligatory insurance.
(I don't have supplementary, so don't know exactly how much it is...)
Also, some insurers offer a rebate if you pay your premiums half-yearly or yearly rather than monthly. Mine offers 0.5% off half yearly payment and 1% off yearly. It's not much, some CHF 70 per year on a yearly payment - but better than the bank is currently paying me on that money.

I like the call med. So far it's been innocuous and you don't have to take their advice. And sometimes it's useful. Family doctor is good if you like your GP.

Hi all, moving in to Switzerland and I have excellent health insurance that is international.
Do you know if any of the Swiss Krankenkasseversicherung insurers will give me a discount when I show them my and wife's already very comprehensive policies?
Thanks!

Thanks! | | | | | Welcome to the Forum. The basic insurance isn't negotiable as far as I know. Where you'd possibly be able to negotiate would be on a supplementary policy.

Thanks! | | | | | No. This does not depend on the assurance maladie, it is a compulsory cantonal insurance and the authorities will want proof that you have contracted the basic insurance.

Thanks! | | | | | I dont know where you are moving, here is an example from Zurich
"Exemption from compulsory health insurance
Exemption from compulsory health insurance is possible for a small number of groups of people and only on application and is granted with restraint. The Department of Health decides on applications for exemption." https://www.zh.ch/en/gesundheit/kran...sicherung.html |
