Anybody know about a the health insurance ombudsman?

I hope somebody can help!

I have finally reached my limit with the non existant custimer care that my health insurance company displays I can not keep on with them agreeing with me how terrible things are on the phone and then the next day when the post arrives the same thing happening again. I can almost hear their laugh of disdain as I open the post box.

My apologies, I became distracted I was hoping there is a health insurance ombudsman. There seems to be that type of regulation for other industries so I thought the chances would be good. If you have any experience of using this ombudsman that would also be very helpful.

Re: Anybody know about a the health insurance ombudsman?

I think you might get more helpful replies if you are a little more specific about what exactly your health insurance company is (or isn't) doing.

Health care here is very different from in the UK. The actions you are finding frustrating may be the result of poor customer service, or they may be simply 'the way things are' here.

Reading your post, I have no idea about what to suggest or even what to look up on the internet on your behalf because I don't know who you are with, or what you're unhappy about!

(And just a hint: people on this forum don't appreciate being asked to help with a problem and then drip-fed information. Take time to tell the whole story and you're much more likely to get a helpful response.)

I had and indeed I still have no intention in 'airing my dirty laundry in public'.

I am well aware of the fact that there are differences between health care here and the U.K. There are two seperate points here that I would like to address.

My problem is not with a health care provider. It is with the middle men, the health insurance company.

The problem I am having with the Health insurance company is such that it would be considered poor customer care in every industrialised nation in the world.

Reading your post, I have no idea about what to suggest or even what to look up on the internet on your behalf because I don't know who you are with, or what you're unhappy about!

It is simple I am having trouble finding details on the health insurance ombudsman. I have tried the internet.

(And just a hint: people on this forum don't appreciate being asked to help with a problem and then drip-fed information. Take time to tell the whole story and you're much more likely to get a helpful response.)
Oh! so you mean I have to entertain people with my story before they allow me grace of their knowlege, no thanks!

Re: Anybody know about a the health insurance ombudsman?

Aged Hippy, Vlh22 is simply trying to 'help us help you'. Often in Switzerland who to go to with a problem is not so clear cut and often varies by the situation.

But be that as it may, a quick google of 'Krankenkasse Ombudstelle Bern' brought up the following:
http://www.gef.be.ch/de/index/gesund...udsstelle.html

The links there might be of help, depending on your situation.

Re: Anybody know about a the health insurance ombudsman?

Thank you for the kind information. That is exactly what I was seeking.

I am afraid I disagree about the original advice given. I had the destinct feeling of 'being talked down too'. For which, I am, too old and too tired.
But! Life is too short. I for my part apologise if any offence has been taken by anybody over this exchange of messages.
I can be a little testy at the moment. I think it has to do with giving up smoking?
What have I done?

You didn't do anything wrong, you just didn't provide enough info to get lots of useful responses. We don't need the whole story. Just highlights like vlh mentioned. Then others who have the same insurance company or have had similar experiences can chime in with words of wisdom. Or sarcasm, that happens too.
