Dress Code for Basel Tattoo?

Anyone know if it's more dressy-casual or formal?

Re: Dress Code for Basel Tattoo?

If it's anything like the Edinburgh Tattoo, it's casual and, as it's outside - dress up bloody warm!

Is there more than one, or is OP being really, really prepared? The one I know about is in July...

If you're only having it done on your arm, then short sleeves.

Sorry, yes. I was referring to the Edinburgh one but should have stopped simply with "It's casual". Dressing warm would probably not be necessary in Basel in July.

Unless the OP is my mum. Then, bring a scarf and a flask of tea.

Here is what you need, not only a garment but also a sleeping bag and a protection against inclement weather:

Re: Dress Code for Basel Tattoo?

Hi Mirfield:-)
You didn't miss much ! Apparently, the summer one is spectacular and everyone we were with who have seen or attended the other one said it was a big let down-- "too kitschy" was what most of our Swiss/European friends said.

Personally, I thought it was entertaining but nothing mind blowing. I think it had to do with the fact that no one knew who the headliners were , and the only real action were the group called the "Top Secret Drummers".

We were gifted the tickets so we enjoyed the experience.

It was nice and, yes, you didn't miss much. Somewhat eclectic with christmas-decoration-moves-violin-orchestra-and-singers set between bands. That and lack of street dynamics of summer parades lost them the rhythm a great deal.

The Basilea's Top Secrets were indeed the highlight! They always are
