2 laptops on flight

Hello

I was planning on traveling to Stockholm with both my laptops and my ipad tomorrow...someone just told me that you're only allowed one laptop when flying? Can someone shed some light on this.

Thanks

Re: 2 laptops on flight

No problem with two laptops (and an iPad and a Kindle), I've done it plenty of times.

There's a good chance (depending on your airline and ticket) that you'll only be allowed one bag, but if they're both in the same bag, it'll be fine.

These chaps think it's ok: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/archive/t-645413.html

You could always give the airline a call and ask them.

Re: 2 laptops on flight

Looking at posts from 2007 won't help. There are new-ish rules regarding the batteries you're allowed to take on flights. Best to ask the airline. Also make sure they don't look too new else you could be asked to import them when you return!

My guess ... so long as you don't take any spare batteries, two laptops and an iPad will be fine.

Re: 2 laptops on flight

I just flew with 3 laptops, 2 tablets, 1 phablet and 3 phones. apart from the embarassment at security, it wasn't a problem.

Call the airline and get firsthand information. It might be, that different airlines have different rules.

Something wrong with my eyesight, thought OP was asking about 2 laptops and a tablet or ipad. Did not see any reference to separate battery.

OP what is important, is that you separate them out well as you go through security, if you are carrying them as hand luggage. You may well be pulled to one side, but that would be fairly normal.

Adrian, re batteries, as far as I read up last time, they are meant to be part of the item, i.e. some people put their mobiles in suitcase, if allowed, then believe the battery has to be in the mobile etc. I believe one is allowed to take a spare battery for laptop as hand luggage. I did that on recent trip, I was pulled to one side after the Xray, she said I did the right thing separating, the laptop, spare battery, tablet & mobile. She had some other scanner thing for the battery all good.
