Re: The First World Problem Thread

My first world issue in Switzerland is that the BSL airport is not included in most VIP lounge access programmes except for Priority Pass and Star Alliance Gold members.

Furthermore, I feel that the leg room in the first class section of SBB trains could be roomy as if you're sitting opposite fellow passengers, legs could easily touch unless you bend them at steep angle.

And the SBB lounge in Zurich should have some snacks instead of just drinks.

Same here. I'm at that incomfortable stage where my normal pants are too tight but the pregnancy ones are too big yet.

And I don't even really look pregnant yet, I just look like I ate too much Xmas chocolate...

Re: The First World Problem Thread

I have a new Swiss neighbour upstairs who just moved in and made himself comfortable. Every other night he has a vivid conversation with another young man, till about 3 a.m.
Now, it is not that loud and it shouldn't really bother me if I was less of a light sleeper, but they wake me up....and I am pissed because I can't understand what are they talking about.

Oh, and I have another Problem: should I write a passive-agressive letter to them or complain to the house management.

Re: The First World Problem Thread

my freezer door handle broke off a year ago. The wooden spoon wedging the door closed is ineffective as it caused an iceberg to form in the freezer.

so I've had to resort to superglueing the door closed. However will I get my iced lollies out of it now, though?

Re: The First World Problem Thread

Was expecting delivery of new bed at 9.00 am this morning. House is a mess - SO annoying when they actually turned up at 9.00 am. sharp!! Come on, cut a poor house mum some slack, will you? - Don't they know they are supposed to be late like in the rest of the world?

Couldn't even take it out on them properly, as they were so polite, took their shoes off, carefully carried the bed all the way up into the bed room, took away all the emballage with them and tidied up needly! Doesn't make it easy to be annoyed, now does it?!

Now I have to take it out on my husband instead, hmpf!

...Jeez, need a soothing drink at the pool to calm down this upsetting morning...Life is not meant to be easy, for sure

I didn't know our neighbours from downstairs had a dog cos never heard any noise coming. I saw them walking it yesterday. I didn't realize that Swiss dogs were so quiet too and did not bark like their owners

I was eating a donut last night when a story came on about a famine in Africa. Fortunately I managed to finish my deep fried pastry, but I shall be writing to the BBC to complain.

I had to buy a set of oyster shell spoons to eat my boiled egg because it was reacting with my silver spoons.

by 'soothing drink' you mean a glass of wine right, or why not the twoforone champagne, celebrate the hard work involved in negotiating the successful delivery of the bed and enjoy some of that calming wellbeing.

Re: The First World Problem Thread

As my car got totalled before Xmas, we're renting a car for a month, time to sort out our situation.

The cheapest option we found was a Fiat Panda...

It's cute as a button, but I feel like I'm driving a toy... By the time I manage to reach 120 on the motorway, it's time to take the exit

Re: The First World Problem Thread

When I moved to Switzerland about 8 years ago I was appalled at the price of meat so began a lot healthier diet eating a lot more fruit, salad and vegetables. I am now in Australia on holidays and the price of fruit, salad and vegetables is higher than Switzerland.

So meat it is (I thought) but I can't consume as much as I used to without feeling sick, I really am in a crisis.
