Re: The First World Problem Thread

Just realized I like to be forgotten when:

the keys or a phone goes missing;
the washing machine stops working;
kids are fighting;
food needs cooking;
during mayhem and loud noises, crashing/banging, accidents happening
dramas of any sort..

but remembered for:

ice-cream
chocolate
cups of tea
the odd hug

not difficult, eh?

Am I getting this right? Any sentence which begins with the word "Mommy" or your name you'd prefer were directed at some other being. Sentences involving food or love you like.

Hmn... so your inner you is either a mistress, a daughter, or possibly a dog.

What kind of ice cream are you pining for? If you are in fact a dog you won't be able to specify which.

Found this earlier and it did the trick - rebooted my tired head.

Hidden in the guardian "The lost albums loved by the stars – from ecstatic gospel to Italian prog"

What a treat! Like a rich and eclectic mix deep from the belly of Radio 6.

The person I am married to was suppose to be getting me ice cream, but he forgot.. and instead put the ice cream back into the freezer so now it's frozen hard.

I'm gutted.
Can you ask a refound on that person or maybe an exchange?

Did consider it, but then realized he was needed to carve out all the pumpkins today.

Now that is what I call the basis for a long lasting marriage.

"There may be better ones about, but once a year he makes a complete mess of the kitchen and balcony table which makes my kids happy. With a bit more ice cream and the odd hug or two he would be unbearably perfect."

You wouldn't happen to have an older sister would you?

Re: The First World Problem Thread

Do I, or do I not, use the passive-aggressive broom left by our front door by our terminally tidy neighbour, to fashion the riot of red-orange leaves he has swept from in front of his house to in front of our house into a potentially inflammatory symbol? Or do I send Little Rufus out in her wellies to play in them and not sweep them anywhere?

A quandary indeed.

Definitely wellies. And I would add a water pistol to soak them a bit then NOBODY can sweep them up... Muahahahaha!

I've just watched episode one of Stephen Poliakoff's Closer to the Enemy and trying to work out who Jim Sturgess sounds like is driving me batty.

Jonathan Pryce, maybe???

Democracy: many of us are unhappy with the recent election results.

Maybe we should encourage dictators in Europe, then the leaders don't have to
worry about getting re-elected, and things get done, often on time!

I thought I heard screaming.

Will the beatings continue until bedtime? I need to know if I'll be needing earplugs later.

Do you want me to bring a stash back with me, and we can have lunch in Basel for the ceremonial handing over?

Is it appropriate for your kitchen fitter to send the following text message... "Ta love xx" ?
