Those bloomin' (fellow) Brits have bought up all the jars of mincemeat (for mince pies) in all the local coops.
They have loads of jars in Globus up for grabs.

6am:
Eyes open, wild with fatigue. Go to Jura coffee machine.. press buttons until it reads 'Stark'... familiar sound.. cup in place.. cream at the ready....

3 minutes later:
SOS MAYDAY MAYDAY... something is wrong...???

4 minutes later:
*insert loud expletives here* *insert tripping over concerned hound who has, by now, quietly crept up behind me due to the commotion* (Sorry, pup!)

15 minutes later:
*TWITCH* Need.. energy.. *idea!* not... fully.. awake.. THINK, THINK.. emergency stash of instant coffee found.. need... hot... water... ELECTRIC WATER HEATER FOUND...

20 minutes later:
2 mediocre cups of coffee imbibed... dog walked.. not thinking about repair bill for coffee machine...

So many of my First World stars passed away in 2016 that it's even more painful to make a whole list.

I've produced crap tonight because I simply never seem to learn how to fry things. And now I have to try getting rid of the oil scent by burning bukhoor.

Re: The First World Problem Thread

I knew I wouldn't be near a bank again for several weeks and some places I would be shopping at only deal in cash, so I wanted to take Fr.1000.00 from my household account to make sure I could pay all day-to-day expenses.

And what did the idiotic Migros Bank ATM give me? One one-thousand-franc note. (No option shown). The lady there couldn't change it and neither could the Chemists where I wanted to buy skin cream. Couldn't risk missing my transport back to my dwelling so I was stuck with a Fr.1000.00 note which I couldn't use and without skin cream.
