Two possible helps:
  • Right click (or press the menu key on the keyboard). Quite likely that'll bring up a context menu which should be easy enough to find.
  • In the Mouse properties of the Control Panel, turn on the sonar function, turn on mouse trails and turn off hide while typing (in that preference order).
This isn't a solutions thread

Spilt a small amount of soup on my Mac last night, and now neither the RETURN, full^- stop nor h^- key works (stop) wondering if they will be able to release the potato and / or leek in the MAC Store (which also causes my screen to go into uncontrolled zoom), or whether I'üll (apostrphes call u the Oxforn English Dictionary amongst other woes), or whether I'üll need to invest in a new friend

The air is too dry. My hygrometer says 36% which is low but shouldn't cause the problems I'm starting to have. And now laundry to wash or iron .....

I got a third monitor for my computer and it's getting tedious having to turn all three on in the morning.
How do you balance them all on your knee along with your laptop?

I just realised that the job I was hired for has responsibilities that I need to take ownership of even though my pay grade doesn't strictly include those responsibilities.

Re: The First World Problem Thread

I went down to the town to buy a couple of A4 sheets of paper a very specific shade of green. And I forgot to take the sample sheet with me.

And anyone who thinks I can guess the colour missed hearing my daughter say,
'Well if Mum says it is green it is probably orange'!

Re: The First World Problem Thread

In a workroom below our flat we have two bicycles and a 'Rolle' which is our winter cycle training.
To compensate for lack of scenery and zero altitude gain, Mr. Longbyt and I each have a Garmin which registers speed, heart-rate, calories used, distance, cadence etc. which information has always been transfered to the computers by USB cable. The device was afterwards 'kept handy'.for next time.

After searching the whole flat for the Garmin this afternoon, Mr.L finally realised that in spite of the details on the computer being up to date the Garmin had not been in the flat at all..It had been left downstairs. The latest update transfers the information automatically.

The "view first unread" button is absolutely useless. Every time I check, there are one or two pages before the post it jumps on that I haven't read - from the same day.
