That must be new. The Duplo sheep didn't have shoes when our kids were young.

It's an impoverished sheep. I should be grateful it wasn't the giraffe, I suppose.
Wondering what I'm doing on a forum where people seem to speak Chinese ....

What's not to understand? Giraffes have longer necks & pointy faces therefore more painful if you step on one. In some places sheep have wellyboots. Where Rufus is they have shoes. It's winter.

Duplo is lego for the under 5s. It's hurty if you stand on it. A pain rivalled only by standing on an upturned plug, although now I type that I realise Swiss plugs probably don't lie on their back like UK ones do...

Re: The First World Problem Thread

I was making jokes about He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named (e.g. the current U.S. President) and Oompa Loompas, and getting blank stares from my husband.

Turns out he has never heard of "Charlie and The Chocolate Factory"!!!

Oh the heresy!

I promptly bought him the book and we'll have to (re)watch the movies - both the original one and the Creepy-Johnny Depp one - once he's through reading.

In a way, he is...

He grew up in Commieland, on the other side of the (Berlin) wall, and there are certain things that he just was never exposed to. Among others, notable ones are Disney movies, Bible references, and...Charlie&Chocolate Factory!

I am a huge Disney fan so I am taking care of the Disney movies part. I am also a huge history of art person, so we look at art together and talk about the obvious Bible references that are necessary to understand what we are looking at. He tells me all about the Grid and power transformers and energy.

Obviously he was exposed to many other different and equally interesting things that I was not exposed to, but, growing up so differently and the age difference between us make for some very interesting "discoveries"!

Re: The First World Problem Thread

Little Rufus has learned how to answer the landline phone. She has also evidentally worked out how to reach the landline phone.

She answers with a lot of stentorian breathing and a manic giggle. It's like a crank phonecall in reverse.

Why are the first ones named after Criminal Minds characters?
