For 11.20 francs and I ate it in about 10 minutes... That's over 140 calories per franc and 160 calories per minute.
That sounds wonderfully efficient.

Thanks for the tip!

Re: The First World Problem Thread

I am very analytical, lol.

Now I am even more depressed as figure it will take me over 3 hours of strenuous exercise to burn 1600 calories.

Never mind, I'll just be fat.

It was a treat: you'll be fine!

You can't gain any more weight than you actually ate, anyway - and how much of that was water?

A science teacher who lost 56 pounds in six months while eating nothing but McDonald's is the star of a new documentary, The Lunch Tray reports.

John Cisna weighed 280 pounds when he decided to go on the McDonald's-only diet.

After 90 days, he had lost 37 pounds, and at the end of the six months, he weighed 224 pounds.

Cisna limited his daily intake to 2,000 calories and exercised for 45 minutes five times a week.

Apparently being very experienced with a wide array of skills and excellent references is a barrier to re-entering the world of work.

You spend half your career building up experience, then the other half wishing you hadn't bothered as employers clearly prefer cheap and malleable 24 year olds.

Re: The First World Problem Thread

My pulse gadget, given all the info on my age, weight, sex etc. and measuring distance, altitude gain and time, somehow calculates my calorie usage. Lovely, then I know how much I can afford to eat after my exertions.
Unfortunately, in summer I use an ebike and after a few weeks using the same system, I can no longer get into my jeans.

After all the ranting about "too expensive" threads we now have to read complaints about getting too much for the money?

MyStore have sent me emails in French. I presume this is their revenge for my passive aggressive email following their failure to deduct free shipping from the last order.

My distate of packing exponentially grows. More I travel, less I consider packing necessary. Who needs two pairs of clothes?! Papers...books, gifts. Ugh.

I am determined to stick a crochet hook somewhere in there, though.

My distaste for travel similarly grows.

I have to visit England in a few weeks' time. I really cannot face the hassle. Why can't I just spend my holidays at home with my own kitchen, my own living room, my own library? It just seems like an awful lot of expense and bother for very little return.

Dtto. Although I know I do it for the little one and my family there. Everybody thinks it's hols for me, while it ain't. Although I do squeeze a lot of study time in there. And a proportional amount of goulash. Easter is about girls being beat up with whips and other pagan craziness, I wonder if I should pack some pepper spray, lol.

Amen to that!

Perhaps because travel has for a long time been something of a duty - albeit one I embrace willingly - rather than a holiday. And I am grateful for the opportunity to spend time with my loved ones.

But the stress of all the planning and coordination it takes to travel, the hassle and expense, and did I mention the stress? just so we can Have! Fun! Now!... No, at this point in my life traveling is not the way I wish to spend my very limited leisure time.

The prevailing attitude that one is 'supposed' to travel, that not traveling somehow automatically makes one a less worthy person, is really starting to bother me.

At the moment my idea of a great holiday would be a week of peace spent tending my garden.
