Enjoy it while you can - it doesn't happen very often. I think the last time was four or five years ago.

Anyway, how much space do you need on the S25 between Ziegelbruecke and Linthal?
I was talking about driving but however if I visit folks that direction I'll go the other direction from Ziegelbrücke - Weesen, Amden. So you're welcome to spend Easter in Switzerland

Perhaps because travel has for a long time been something of a duty - albeit one I embrace willingly - rather than a holiday. And I am grateful for the opportunity to spend time with my loved ones.
Indeed!

I just wish they realized it is no longer me hopping across the courtyard to them. And that is a bit harder for them to imagine: that arranging travels for me and my kid is far from easy. And arranging her program there while I cram or chase her material so she can be homeschooled in her mother tongue here in CH. Thankgod for her being able to go to school there as well, for a bit. My family will probably never retire.

Still, I am really grateful for their agility and for having them so we can visit. Being in a country without larger family to see them frequently, sucks.

My FWP is - suitcases don't match colors.

Yup - been there. The lonely nights in the deluxe City hotels Worldwide were irrelevant for me. It's wonderful to be away for a while, but at the end of the day it's lonely, and if you're living in Switzerland - there is that wonderful feeling of returning home.

I forgot to put beer in the fridge. And now the deep freezer hasn't made it cold enough in 15 minutes for the hockey game, yet.

Re: The First World Problem Thread

My Philips shaving machine, that I got for Valentine's Day in 2015, stopped working few days ago. Just two months after the 2 year warranty had expired.
So I used razor for two days.

Yesterday, when I was about to plan getting a new one from Tivoli, to my surprise the machine has turned on by itself. How odd? I suspect it must have been water residue that must have caused electric circuit malfunction.

Now, I'm a happy man in my early 40's again who doesn't need to wear a beard.

Re: The First World Problem Thread

The numpties at Netflix have changed their rating system from the universally clear 1-5 stars to a matched number % thumbs up/down system.

So now when you watch a movie and pause it for a time, you return to watch 45% of 87% matched movie.. good grief, it's making my eyes hurt.

87% matched is not accurate anyway because the movie is crap

And then look for the equivalent on EF?
Or ask everybody's name, walking down the street?

Re: The First World Problem Thread

I wanted to rent short-term accommodation and contacted a few companies.

One of them seemed affordable and nice, even if the kitchen and bathroom is shared, the room is big enough and has its own fridge and all that. For 1000 a month and 20-min tram to HB it seemed acceptable, but it has over 130 rooms/studios, so I was afraid it would be a right mess and gypsy central basically.

I went to see the place in person and it was clean enough and all that, pleasantly surprised actually. I told them I was interested but needed another week to make a decision. They said sure and told me I could just book online.

That was 4 days ago.

Today I go to book it online and the monthly price has gone up 50%. FIFTY PERCENT. F I F T Y

What was 1000 is now 1500. WTF?! I've emailed asking if the price I was presented is still valid, but flippin' heck, that escalated quickly.
