So you have a private office: Why do allow your minions to have to suffer the battery hen version?

What do you do during takeoff and landing, when you cannot have your electronics on, you haven't yet fallen asleep/you just woke up and are not on the ground yet, and you don't feel like chatting with your seat neighbor (which I hate to do)?

That's when I usually flip through the in-flight magazine. I find the the incredible cr*p they have on sale and the (unrelated) professional matchmaker ads quite entertaining. Lately I also enjoy looking at pictures of ridiculously priced beachfront apartments.
I usually consider how luckily I am to be here, and can't wait (unless on a business trip)

Hey, that sounds like me. We should sit next to each other on a flight sometime and not talk about it.

This is how I do mine: milk, chocolate powder (Jemalt or Suchard), two teaspoons of Oetker chocolate pudding powder, a bit of cinnamon or orange zest. Nuke it on high for two mins.
I don't have a microwave so I can't try out MC's recipe.

I don't think "not having a microwave" can be classed as a first world problem as I suspect many people elsewhere also don't have one.

Maybe "my cook is in his quarters and I don't know how to operate the microwave" would be more appropriate.

My cook is not answering the bell, and I don't know where the kitchen is.

First world solution; just mosey down to the nearest electrical appliance shop and use the nearest microwave

Right then, it's only 22:00. No problem in Switzerland.

Re: The First World Problem Thread

Why don't you look for a stove in your kitchen. It should look like this:

Ring at your neighbor's, ask their buttler to show you how to use it.

PS - a bit of orange zest and cardamom...hmmmm. Splash of cream.

^What she said. My stove looks nothing like that, and AFAIK it doesn't nuke anything. If it did, I might need those iodine tablets the gubmint sent me.

I read the chocolate thread and now I am craving chocolate. But I am on a diet, a perennial diet. At least in my mind, I am.

Thanks, EF!
