What do you do during takeoff and landing, when you cannot have your electronics on, you haven't yet fallen asleep/you just woke up and are not on the ground yet, and you don't feel like chatting with your seat neighbor (which I hate to do)?

That's when I usually flip through the in-flight magazine. I find the the incredible cr*p they have on sale and the (unrelated) professional matchmaker ads quite entertaining. Lately I also enjoy looking at pictures of ridiculously priced beachfront apartments.
Takeoff is easy.
As soon as the plane starts rolling start counting slowly; if you reach 30 and are still on the ground then there is a major problem

Hope that helps and you enjoyed your flight with us!

Pray even though I am anti religion, consider whether there's anything left in my bowels that could possibly be loose & generally hope there will still be a tomorrow.

Only 30 minutes left, but we can't continue to watch the Jason Bourne movie tonight because my son has a history project to complete.
That's just nasty, you knew how long the movie would be. Power trip much?

What are you smoking? Or you've hit the bottle..

Actually, we watched most of it on the weekend, but I wanted to finish it on Monday night when homework was done.. but no he's too busy.
Funny, I am more keen to see the ending than he is..

It's a good movie. I was pleasantly surprised. Not as great as the first but better than the Renner rehash.

Mums have to be all powerful drawing a line in the sand. The buck stops there.

So you have a private office: Why do allow your minions to have to suffer the battery hen version?

I usually consider how luckily I am to be here, and can't wait (unless on a business trip)

Hey, that sounds like me. We should sit next to each other on a flight sometime and not talk about it.

This is how I do mine: milk, chocolate powder (Jemalt or Suchard), two teaspoons of Oetker chocolate pudding powder, a bit of cinnamon or orange zest. Nuke it on high for two mins.
I don't have a microwave so I can't try out MC's recipe.

I don't think "not having a microwave" can be classed as a first world problem as I suspect many people elsewhere also don't have one.

Maybe "my cook is in his quarters and I don't know how to operate the microwave" would be more appropriate.
